Reports indicate that J-Hope from BTS is honored to throw the ceremonial first pitch during the upcoming second round of the KIA Tigers versus Samsung Lions game in the 2024 Korean Series. As per Sports Chosun, this thrilling event is set to occur on October 22 at Gwangju KIA Champions Field. This will mark J-Hope’s first public appearance post his military service, which he completed on October 17, 2024.

It’s worth mentioning that BTS as a group had previously thrown the first pitch in Japan back in 2017. However, J-Hope is now making history as the first member of BTS to do so as a solo artist. On October 21, 2024, OSEN, a media outlet in South Korea, reported that BIGHIT MUSIC released a statement concerning J-Hope’s participation in the 2024 Korean Series on October 22, where he will serve as the ceremonial pitcher. As per the details, J-Hope will throw the pitch during the second game of the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO Korean Series.

However, BIGHIT MUSIC, responding to OSEN, noted:

“The KBO will announce the details of the first pitch for the Korean Series ahead of tomorrow’s game.”

This event is particularly significant for J-Hope as he was born in Gwangju in 1994 and has expressed a deep admiration for the KIA Tigers baseball team. His love for his hometown is evident in BTS’s song “Ma City,”where he pays homage to both his roots and the team.

The KIA Tigers will face off against the Samsung Lions on October 22, 2024, at the Gwangju KIA Champions Field.
