Weekly Music Radar: Guide to the biggest releases for the week

Last week, the music industry witnessed the release of several significant projects, ranging from the trap collaboration between Metro Boomin and Future, titled “We Don’t Trust You,”to Tyla’s debut studio album, which shares the same name as the artist.

Our Weekly Music Radar (WMR) will showcase 10 highly anticipated projects from various genres including Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, and more, all set to be released on Friday, March 29.

Alongside multiple Hip/Hop and R&B projects, Beyonce’s ninth studio album Act II: Cowboy Carter has also been released, including BFB Da Packman’s fourth studio album, Olympic Sh*t Talkin.

This list will focus on the records that were selected as Weekly Music Radar’s top picks for March 29, 2024.

1) Act II: Country Queen (Beyonce) – Launching Her Country Music Career

Beyonce’s second installment of her Renaissance trilogy, Act II: Cowboy Carter, follows her 2022 album, Renaissance. It features 27 tracks and collaborations with renowned artists such as Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, and others.

2) “Tickets to My Downfall”- MGK’s Pop-Punk Revival Album

MGK and Trippie Redd have joined forces to drop their joint EP, named genre:sadboy, consisting of 10 songs with a runtime of under 30 minutes.

Under an exclusive license to Interscope Records, 19XX LLC distributed the project to DSPs (Digital Streaming Platforms). The official tracklist for genre:sadboy features the following songs:

3) Gesaffelstein’s Highly Anticipated EDM Album “Hyperion”Drops Worldwide

Gesaffelstein, the French DJ and producer, is making a comeback with a new full-length album, GAMMA, marking his first release in over five years. His signature style, characterized by haunting and atmospheric production, is showcased in this latest project and is sure to please his fans, who may best know him for his collaborations with The Weeknd on tracks such as I Was Never There and Hurt You.

Snoop Dogg is releasing his sixth single of the year, teaming up with DJ Premier and Daz Dillinger for a track called Can U Dig That? The song showcases Dogg’s original Californian style and features a classic 90s beat.

The track was made available to all digital service providers through TTT and has a duration of 3 minutes and 14 seconds.

5) “Breathe Easy”- Debut Hip/Hop Album by Buddy

Simmie Sims III, also known by his stage name Buddy, has released his third studio album titled Don’t Forget To Breathe. This highly anticipated project serves as a continuation of his previous album Superghetto, which was released in 2022. The album shares the same title as Buddy’s recent mini-documentary that he shared on social media.

Buddy’s album “Don’t Forget To Breathe”has a total runtime of 35 minutes and includes collaborations with Kent Jamz, BJ The Chicago Kid, Garren, and other artists. The tracklist consists of the following songs:

BFB DA PACKMAN has released his fourth studio album, titled Forget Me Not, on all digital music platforms through The Lunch Crew Company LLC. The album was produced by Issac ‘Cassie’ Fair and Aaron ‘Areddstudio’ Fredd.

The official tracklist for Forget Me Not includes songs that feature Rio Da Yung OG, DDG, and other artists, with a total runtime of 40 minutes.

7) New Single Release: “Steppas”by A Boogie Wit da Hoodie (Hip/Hop)

Today, Atlantic Records and Highbridge The Label LLC have dropped A Boogie Wit da Hoodie’s first single of the year, “Steppas,”on all DSPs. Along with the single, a music video was also uploaded to YouTube.

The track “Steppas”is a melodic rap song that explores the themes of wealth and extravagance. It is a full-length industry track with a duration of 3:21 minutes.

8) J-Hope’s Solo Debut EP “Hope On The Street, Vol. 1″Rocks the K-Pop Scene

After much anticipation, J-Hope has released his highly-anticipated EP, Hope On The Street, Vol. 1 under BIGHIT MUSIC Records. The latest mini-album from the BTS superstar showcases a variety of sounds and productions, as well as collaborations with Benny Blanco, Jung Kook, and other artists.

The mini-album, titled Hope On The Street, Vol. 1, was released alongside a documentary series of the same name, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime as an Original. The official tracklist for the mini-album includes the following songs:

10) “Scaled and Icy”- Twenty One Pilots’ Upcoming Album Release

Twenty One Pilots recently dropped their second single, titled “Next Semester”, from their highly anticipated album Clancy, which is known for its in-depth storytelling. The track was made available on all digital music platforms through Fueled By Ramen LLC.

The music video accompanying the song was uploaded to YouTube and showcases Tyler and Josh performing on stage in front of a sizable audience. The length of the song, Next Semester, is 3 minutes and 54 seconds.
