“We will fight again for sure” – Superbon believes rivalry with fellow Thai star Tawanchai is far from over

Superbon Singha Mawynn, who previously held the ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion title, anticipates a rematch with Tawanchai PK Saenchai, the current ONE featherweight Muay Thai world champion, in the foreseeable future.

At last December’s ONE Friday Fights 46, the two opponents fiercely battled, with Tawanchai ultimately securing a close majority decision to keep his championship title. Superbon, on the other hand, strongly believed that he deserved the victory.

Hence, he strongly believes that a rematch is completely justified.

In a recent interview with the South China Morning Post, Superbon stated that he intends to resume his career in Muay Thai at a later time.

The representative from Singha Mawynn stated:

“Everyone in the weight class, I can fight everyone. You see someone can fight him, Tawanchai, or someone can fight me in the weight class. I think we will fight again for sure.”

Prior to even considering trading leather with Tawanchai once more, Superbon must first handle business against another formidable opponent this weekend.

Superbon will be facing off against Marat Grigorian of Armenia, the second-ranked contender in the featherweight kickboxing division, at ONE Friday Fights 58: Superbon vs. Grigorian II.

The event will be live-streamed from the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion will be crowned as the winner.

Fans across the United States and Canada will have the opportunity to watch all the exciting moments live on watch.ONEFC.com this Friday morning, April 5th, through the global pay-per-view option.

Superbon reflects on challenges transitioning from kickboxing to Muay Thai after disappointing performance against Tawanchai

Superbon definitely wasn’t satisfied with his performance against Tawanchai. He remains confident that he will improve if they were to have a rematch in the ring.

Superbon relayed to SCMP MMA:

“In Muay Thai, I have limits. Something that I can say before in Muay Thai, I can box well. I can protect the kicks well. But because I fought kickboxing for so long, and kickboxers don’t really have good kicks.”
