Ben Shelton, ranked as the 16th best player in the world, was recently in awe of the incredible car collection found in the parking lot of the University of Florida’s football stadium.
Currently, Shelton is participating in the U.S. Men’s Claycourt Championships in Houston after being eliminated in the third round of the Miami Open, where he was defeated by Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets.
As he prepares for his debut in the clay court season, Shelton reposted a photo on his Instagram story showcasing an impressive array of cars in the University of Florida’s football parking lot.

During his time as a freshman, Shelton was a member of the Florida Gators college tennis team. He achieved two NCAA Championships with the Gators, one in 2021 for the team event and the other in 2022 for the Singles Championship.
The American kicked off his Miami campaign with a strong victory over Martin Landaluce, emerging victorious with a score of 6-3, 6-4 in just over an hour. He expressed his joy in securing his first-ever Miami win and praised the vibrant atmosphere at the tournament.
“There was unbelievable crowd support out here for me today. It’s just really cool to be here. It has a special atmosphere here in Miami, especially at night,”Ben Shelton said.
“Electric atmosphere, that’s what I live for on the tennis court, so just happy to be here and happy to be able to play another match here,”he added.
Despite his strong start, Shelton was unable to leave a lasting impression on his opponent Lorenzo Musetti, as he was defeated in a thrilling third-round match with a final score of 6-4, 7-6(5).
Ben Shelton advances to face Zizou Bergs in second round of U.S. Men’s Claycourt Championships
On Wednesday, top seed Ben Shelton will face off against Zizou Bergs in the second round of the U.S. Men’s Claycourt Championships.
Despite receiving a first-round bye based on his ranking points, Shelton’s opponent, Bergs, started his campaign with a remarkable victory over Patrick Kypson. The match was won in straight sets with a score of 7-6(5), 6-3.
With a successful start to his doubles campaign, Ben Shelton is brimming with confidence as he sets his sights on the singles competition. Eager to replicate his performance, he aims to make a strong debut in Houston by advancing far in the tournament.
In their first encounter, Shelton and Bergs will compete against each other. The victor of this game will then advance to the quarterfinals to face either Brandon Nakashima or Rinky Hijikata.
