“We deeply apologize for the inconvenience”: BIGHIT shares official statement for multiple blunders during BTS’ J-Hope’s HOTS listening party

During a listening party for J-Hope’s latest solo album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1, BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Labels) unintentionally promoted BTS member Taehyung’s song FRI(END)S.

The company unintentionally shared an inaccurate purchase link, causing disappointment among fans. The album, featuring BTS’s Jungkook, LE SSERAFIM’s Yunjin, Yoon Mi-rae, and others, was released on March 29, 2024 and contains six tracks.

Despite this, the agency used social media the following day to issue an apology, declaring:

“We express our sincerest apologies for presenting an incorrect download link during yesterday’s Stationhead listening party. Stationhead confirmed and corrected a technical mapping error, but we deeply apologize for the inconvenience. We also express our deepest regret for posting a schedule image with an error. Moving forward, we will make utmost efforts to put forth preventative measures in advance. We extend our cordial invitation once more to join us in celebrating and supporting j-hope’s new album, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1”

Consequently, the company’s continual blunders have become the main focus of discussion on X/Twitter as this marks the third instance of such incidents happening within a month. Prior to this, BIGHIT MUSIC had faced delays in starting Taehyung’s FRI(END)S listening party on March 15 and 16, 2024, when the single was released digitally worldwide.

During his ongoing Listening Party, netizens were perturbed by the discovery made by a fan on X (@comet_icy) that there was a purchase link for FRI(END)S instead of J-Hope’s new album’s title track NEURON.

BTS J-Hope’s “Hope World”album dominates charts but BIGHIT MUSIC’s mistake causes controversy

During the listening session, BIGHIT MUSIC received criticism for a few errors in BTS J-Hope’s latest album, HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1.

During the listening party, an incorrect promotional link was initially circulated and remained unchanged for an hour. Furthermore, the posts promoting the event originally contained incorrect dates and were not corrected for nine hours.

Despite issuing official apologies for the extended inaccuracies, BIGHIT MUSIC continues to face backlash from netizens. The label’s initial apology for the incorrect link and schedule did little to appease online supporters, who expressed their anger through harsh and biting comments. Many questioned how a successful company like BIGHIT MUSIC could still be making such mistakes.

In the meantime, J-hope, the multi-talented artist and dancer from BTS, finally released his highly anticipated special album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1. The album features six tracks, each corresponding to a different episode, including the title track NEURON.

The album, originally released in 2023, features songs such as On The Street (Solo version) and I Wonder…, which includes a collaboration with BTS member Jungkook, in addition to the title track NEURON.

Some noteworthy collaborations include “Lock/Unlock”with Benny Blanco and Nile Rodgers, and “I Don’t Know”with Huh Yunjin from LE SSERAFIM.

J-Hope’s Latest Album Explores His Roots and Personal History with NEURON as Its Lead Single

The song NEURON also includes the talents of renowned artists Gaeko and Yoon Mi Rae.

The South Korean artist, known by his stage name BTS idol, first rose to fame as a rapper in the group BTS in 2013. However, before his debut, he spent years performing with Gwangju’s dance group Neuron Crew under his birth name, Jung Hoseok. Now, after a decade in the spotlight, the artist is reconnecting with his roots and revealing his true self to fans through his latest album and accompanying docuseries, both titled after his birth name.

The album consists of six songs that serve as the original soundtracks (OST) for the docuseries, which premiered its first episode on March 28, 2024. The first episode featured I Wonder, a collaboration with Jungkook of BTS, while the second episode, which aired on March 29, opened with NEURON.

In 2024, this latest album quickly sold 441,278 album units in just a few hours of its release, earning its biggest first-day sales on Hanteo.

Currently, J-Hope is fulfilling his military duties in the South Korean military as a corporal and is set to be discharged in October 2024. In the meantime, he has digitally released his second solo album through BIGHIT MUSIC (now HYBE Labels).
