The Miami Open final clash between Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov on Sunday was a spectacle that caught the attention of fans and celebrities alike. Colombian music star Shakira was among the attendees.
Ever since the start of the season, both players have been in exceptional form, setting the stage for an exciting final at the 2024 Miami Open. In the highly-anticipated match on Sunday, 22-year-old Jannik Sinner emerged victorious over Grigor Dimitrov with a score of 6-3, 6-1, adding to his impressive track record of reaching the final three times in the past four years.
While the match was in progress, Tennis TV uploaded a video on X (previously known as Twitter) which showcased the three-time Grammy Award winner enjoying the game from the stands, with a bright smile on her face. In the video, she can be seen engaging with a young fan who was wearing an Argentina football jersey.
During her time in England last year, Shakira demonstrated her passion for tennis by attending the Wimbledon Championships semifinal match, where Carlos Alcaraz emerged victorious over Daniil Medvedev.
During the Miami Open of this year, a number of prominent figures such as Neymar, a football star, Ivanka Trump, Jimmy Butler, and Serena Williams attended the event.
Sinner’s recent win at the Miami Open marks his third title of the season, following his first place finishes at the Australian Open and the Rotterdam Open. With a record of 22 wins and only one loss this season, the Italian has solidified his place as a top player. As a result of his success, he will now climb to the No. 2 spot in the ATP rankings.
On the flip side, Dimitrov has been having a fantastic season, reaching his third final of the year. He kicked off the season with a win at the Brisbane International in January and then followed it up with a loss in the final of the Open 13.
