WATCH: Jannik Sinner hilariously pouts for the camera while hugging Italian singer Laura Pausini after Miami Open triumph
After winning the Miami Open on Sunday, March 31, Jannik Sinner had an encounter with Italian singer and songwriter Laura Pausini.
Despite a relatively short final lasting only 74 minutes, Sinner dominated Grigor Dimitrov with a comfortable 6-3, 6-1 victory. He managed to break the Bulgarian’s serve twice in both sets and impressively did not drop a single point on his own serve in the first set.
In total, the two players competed for 93 points, with Sinner emerging victorious in 55 of them. Despite Dimitrov’s efforts to create a break point during the match, he was unable to convert it.
Significantly, this marked Sinner’s third time reaching the Miami Open final. In 2021 and 2023, he finished as the runner-up, falling to Hurkacz and Daniil Medvedev, respectively.
Additionally, Jannik Sinner’s total number of trophies for the 2024 season increased to three after winning the Australian Open and Rotterdam Open. He enthusiastically celebrated his victory.
At the Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday, the Italian had an endearing encounter with Grammy award-winning artist Laura Pausini. They took several photos together, and for one shot, he comically puckered his lips and embraced the singer.

Pausini then shared the photographs on Instagram and expressed her admiration for the champion.
“Our champion Jannik Sinner once again led Italy to victory, thanks to his talent, his training, his willpower and his character. You are a great pride for all of us and an example for all young people,”Pausini captioned the post.
Jannik Sinner and Grigor Dimitrov make significant jumps in latest ATP rankings
Despite the Sunday result, Grigor Dimitrov had reason to celebrate as he joined the Top 10 of the ATP rankings on Monday, April 1. This achievement served as a silver lining for him.
As of October 29, 2018, Dimitrov has made his first appearance in the top ten of the men’s singles ranking list. He surpassed Hubert Hurkacz and Alex de Minaur, climbing to ninth place.
Meanwhile, Jannik Sinner has reached his highest career ranking of World No. 2. He overtook Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, who was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Miami Open and was unable to defend his semifinal points from the previous year.
Sinner improved upon his 2023 Miami Garden performance and gained 400 points, bringing his total to 8,710 points. As a result, Alcaraz dropped to third place with 8,645 points after losing 160 points.
