WATCH: Flyweight MMA king Demetrious Johnson doesn’t let ice cool him off in world title defense over rival Adriano Moraes

Despite a minor ice spill in between rounds, the ONE flyweight MMA world champion Demetrious Johnson remains unfazed and continues to perform his duties.

During ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes in Denver, the 37-year-old legend experienced an incident while taking a water break. An ice pack on his chest suddenly burst open and landed on the mat.

Johnson quickly apologized and got right back into his thrilling firefight with Moraes, making light of the scene.

This week, ONE Championship posted the comical clip on Instagram with the accompanying caption:

“The GOAT isn’t fazed.”

Fans of the fighting world are eagerly anticipating the announcement of ‘Mighty Mouse’s next fight, which is still pending and expected to be revealed later this year.

The MMA legend has remained true to his word and has only fought once a year thus far.

Despite leaving fans speculating about a potential retirement, Johnson revealed his thoughts last year and continues to remain active as ‘Mighty Mouse’. He may even return for one or two fights to defend the gold.

Despite taking a break from the circle, Johnson has found success in his other passion – Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He recently competed in the 2024 IBJJF Pans and proudly took home two more medals, showcasing his determination and skill in the sport.

Jarred Brooks Challenges Demetrious Johnson to MMA or Grappling Match in the Circle

Upon Demetrious Johnson’s return, there is another risky choice available to him.

Ever since defeating Joshua Pacio for the title last year, former ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks has been expressing his desire to fight ‘Mighty Mouse’.

Even though he lost the belt to Pacio in a rematch this year, the thought of facing DJ has not faded. After witnessing the MMA icon claim his first gold medal at the 2023 World Masters, Brooks took to Instagram to send a message to ‘Mighty Mouse’.

“I’ve seen who you win against over at those Master Worlds, they weren’t tomato cans. I think that I will give you twice as good a match, and the wrestling, we’re gonna wrestle until somebody gets taken down and I think that’s going to be super exciting, especially for submission grappling. So, ‘Mighty Mouse,’ meet me in the circle – MMA or grappling.”
