WATCH: Draymond Green kicks out at Grant Williams a game after ejection

The Charlotte Hornets were soundly defeated by the Golden State Warriors on the road, but what has caught the attention of basketball fans is an incident involving Draymond Green. During the game, Green was observed kicking at Grant Williams’ groin, sparking a debate over whether it was intentional.

His recent early ejection during the game against the Orlando Magic has sparked attention on social media.

At the 8:02 mark of the fourth quarter, during a game where the Warriors were leading 101-80, Chris Paul passed the ball to Draymond Green who was 28 feet away from the basket. As soon as Green caught the ball, Grant Williams aggressively defended him, applying close pressure.

Despite limited space to maneuver, the four-time NBA champion attempted to shift his left leg in front of him. However, he lost his balance and his right leg unintentionally kicked out towards Williams’ groin in an effort to create some separation.

Despite his efforts to avoid conflict, Green still ended up getting called for a regular foul and causing a turnover by using his hand on Williams’ chest.

Draymond Green discusses Grant Williams’ mindset and trade from the Dallas Mavericks

Just before the trade deadline, the Charlotte Hornets made a deal to send PJ Washington to the Dallas Mavericks in return for Seth Curry and Grant Williams. Upon seeing Williams play in a Hornets jersey for the first time, Draymond Green suggested he should drop his tough guy act.

Additionally, Green explained that Williams’ defensive approach, which he exhibited while attempting to protect Green, ultimately resulted in his trade during the middle of the season. He informed the press:

“Talking too much kind of got you out of Dallas like overdoing it and he [at the Hornets is] talking too much now so you might want to slow down. Stop all the tough guy stuff.”

In 28 minutes of playing time, Draymond Green contributed eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists for the Warriors. Meanwhile, Grant Williams came off the bench for the Hornets and scored a dozen points, grabbed eight rebounds, and dished out four assists in 25 minutes.

The Golden State Warriors have retained their 10th-best record in the NBA Western Conference by improving their record to 39-34, securing the final play-in spot.

The Charlotte Hornets currently hold the second-to-last spot in the NBA Eastern Conference with a record of 18-55, placing them just above the Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons.
