WATCH: Croatian monster Roberto Soldic looking as explosive as ever, hints at upcoming match in ONE Championship
Roberto Soldic, the Croatian phenomenon, is diligently training at the gym and subtly suggesting that his comeback to the Circle is just around the corner.
There was a lot of excitement surrounding Soldic’s decision to join ONE Championship in 2022. This was not surprising given his impressive success with KSW, where he claimed both the welterweight and middleweight titles. He appears ready for the challenges that come with competing at the next level.
Despite not meeting expectations in his first two fights, Soldic remains determined to bounce back and make a statement on the world stage of martial arts in 2024 as ‘Robocop’.
“Training for @onechampionship,”Soldic wrote on Instagram, teasing his imminent return.
Soldic’s first appearance at ONE on Prime Video 5 was unfortunately overshadowed by an accidental low blow just after the two-minute mark of the first round, ending his highly anticipated clash with Russian standout Murad Ramazanov in an anticlimactic manner.
Soldic made his highly anticipated return five months later at ONE Fight Night 10, determined to secure a major victory against former welterweight world champion Zebaztian Kadestam. Despite his efforts, Soldic was ultimately overpowered by the Swedish star. Kadestam delivered a brutal knockout just 45 seconds into the second round, although Soldic had controlled much of the match.
Determined to Overcome Adversity: Robert Soldic’s Unwavering Pursuit in ONE Championship
Despite knowing that signing with ONE Championship would bring a unique and challenging experience, Roberto Soldic was drawn to the organization for that exact reason. In fact, it was the challenge that attracted ‘Robocop’ to join ONE Championship.
“On this level, there are no easy fights,”Soldic told ONE. “I’ll fight anyone. It doesn’t matter which base of martial arts. In MMA, you have to be complete in everything: kickboxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and conditioning. Everything.”
Despite facing some initial challenges, Soldic’s ultimate objective remains unchanged – to eventually lift 26 pounds of ONE gold above his head. This will all begin with his upcoming return to the Circle later this year.
