In 2019, ONE Championship delivered a long list of historic fights to fans around the globe, including a memorable showdown between women’s MMA legends Xiong Jing Nan and Angela Lee.

Lee challenged ‘The Panda’ for the ONE women’s strawweight MMA world title in the co-main event of ONE: A New Era.

At the time, Xiong was the undefeated ONE women’s atomweight MMA world champion, known as ‘Unstoppable’, with nine consecutive wins in her division. Meanwhile, she also held a winning streak of eight, including dominant performances against Samara Santos and Tiffany Teo, which led her to claim the first-ever women’s strawweight MMA world title.

Despite Lee enduring Xiong’s attacks, the champion-versus-champion matchup was just as intense as their impressive backgrounds had indicated. Ultimately, Xiong demonstrated that she remained the unrivaled ruler of her weight class.

The Chinese star focused on wearing down Lee’s energy by repeatedly striking her body during the match, ultimately emerging victorious after a powerful blow to Lee’s midsection caused her to double over. Xiong then launched a full offensive, securing the win and successfully defending her world championship title with a knockout.

Fans of ONE Championship will have the opportunity to see the inaugural Chinese MMA world champion return to the ONE Circle and continue her legacy as she defends her women’s strawweight MMA world title at ONE 168: Denver on September 6.

Stamp Fairtex, the current reigning ONE women’s atomweight MMA world champion, will be her opponent. In September of last year, Stamp made history by becoming the first three-sport world titleholder in the promotion.

In Denver, Colorado’s Ball Arena, this fight is bound to be another timeless event, with legendary figures on both sides of the ONE Circle.
