In an impressive display of popularity, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 has maintained a robust sales trajectory. Developed by Saber Interactive, the game achieved remarkable success by selling two million copies on its first day, including pre-orders. This feat secured its position as the second best-selling game launch of 2023 in Europe. Just under three months post-launch, Saber Interactive announced that the game has surpassed five million units sold, a testament to the game’s favorable reception among the discerning Warhammer 40K fanbase.

Upcoming Update Details

In an exciting announcement for players, Saber Interactive revealed that Patch 5.0 is set for release in early December. This update, arriving within the next few weeks, will introduce a new PvE co-op Operation titled Obelisk. In this mission, players will work together to manipulate a replica of the Obelisk in order to disrupt the energy shield safeguarding the Aurora device. Notably, this operation unfolds concurrently with the climax of the campaign.

New Challenges Await

To access the console controlling the Obelisk, players will navigate through a labyrinthine dark tomb, adding a layer of complexity to the game. This difficulty will be further heightened by a new formidable enemy: the Tzaangor Enlightened, a Majoris foe now included in the Chaos roster, set to appear in every PvE Operation featuring Chaos.

Expanded Customization Features

Patch 5.0 will also enhance player customization options significantly. A new feature allowing for color lens customization will permit players to select from a palette of fifteen colors. Additionally, the update will introduce the Dark Angels Chapter Pack, which includes a distinctive armor set—the Dark Angels Champion—along with three themed weapons and a unique shield for the Bulwark class.

Performance Enhancements

Furthermore, this update will support advanced technologies like NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Frame Generation, aimed at improving frame rates on PC systems, thus enhancing overall gameplay performance.

In addition to these gameplay updates, Saber Interactive invites fans to anticipate the continuation of Titus’s narrative in an upcoming episode of the Secret Level series on Amazon Prime Video, which will feature Space Marine 2.
