Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 receives major free update featuring ultrawide monitor support and additional enhancements
The highly anticipated release of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 from Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment has become a significant success, achieving sales of 2 million copies just days after its launch. As of now, the game continues to rank among the top 10 best-selling games on Steam.
Today, Saber and Focus are unveiling a substantial free update for the game, which introduces a variety of exciting new features. According to a post on the game’s Steam page, one of the highlights is the addition of a Sparring Arena within the Battle Barge:
This area is available in both Operations and Eternal War modes, accessible directly from the Launch Bay. Once there, players are equipped with weapons and grenades akin to a PvP match, enabling them to spar alongside their Battle-Brothers before embarking on missions.
Another exciting feature across all platforms is the introduction of private lobbies in Operations mode, allowing players to engage with bots or play with a single friend without the standard matchmaking system inserting random online players.
The PC version of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 now supports ultrawide monitors, enhancing the gameplay experience. Additionally, players can now reset their customized armor and colors to default settings, giving them the option to start fresh with their customization.
This update also implements numerous gameplay balance changes, along with bug fixes and various improvements. Players can anticipate further free and paid DLC content for Space Marine 2, with Saber considering the addition of story expansion packs or possibly even a Space Marine 3 in the future.
