“Wanted to be with him”— Love is Blind’s Marissa Discusses the Aftermath of Her Breakup with Ramses

The finale of Love is Blind season 7 debuted on October 23 on Netflix, showcasing the final couples faced with the momentous choice of whether to tie the knot or part ways for good. Among the three couples, Marissa and Ramses were set to exchange vows.

However, just days prior to their wedding, Ramses experienced a change of heart and ended his engagement with Marissa during the emotional season finale. In a candid interview with Glamour released on the same day, Marissa opened up about the breakup, sharing her thoughts and revealing details that didn’t make it into the episode.

The reality star expressed her desire to continue building a relationship with Ramses despite their split.

“Reflecting on the past year, I find myself in a new headspace. I made numerous concessions because I genuinely wanted to be with him and make it work. I was willing to overlook how he made me feel about my career, thinking we could work through it. But now, I’m like, Nope,”Marissa explained.

Marissa from Love is Blind Reveals Untold Moments Surrounding Her Breakup

Marissa and Ramses were among the six couples from Love is Blind that found love and got engaged after connecting in the pods. They believed in their bond and pictured a future together.

Nevertheless, just days ahead of their nuptials, Ramses confided in Marissa that he felt unprepared to take the plunge and sensed a disconnect compared to the energy they shared in the pods. Ultimately, they chose to part ways.

During her Glamour interview, Marissa expressed her intention to nurture her relationship with Ramses. She proposed postponing their wedding to take time for their relationship to develop naturally. If the pace felt rushed, they could simply remain engaged. She also clarified that marriage on the show was never part of their original plan.

“I suggested we hold off on marriage. We could continue being engaged or take our time with things. There was never any rush to move in together. That wasn’t our intention from the start. We didn’t need to be engaged to continue dating. It was an outright no,”she stated.

Marissa also recounted the series of events that triggered their breakup conversation, mentioning that Ramses had met with a close friend two days prior, who was associated with his ex-wife.

That evening, the emotional tension became apparent when Ramses expressed to Marissa how he hadn’t realized the extent of the pain he caused his ex-wife. A sense of unease washed over Marissa, prompting her to reflect:

“I remember looking at him and thinking, This is somehow going to mess us up. That was the only moment I truly considered that things might not work out.”

The following day, Marissa learned that during a conversation with his friend, Ramses had described her as a ‘girl who is just so full of energy.’ This remark didn’t sit well with her. She responded:

“He made me sound a bit eccentric. I literally walked away from that conversation. If that’s how you’re going to speak about me, I don’t want to be a part of this.”

On the day they parted ways, Marissa called Ramses, who revealed his growing doubts and broke down during their conversation. Concerned for him, she drove an hour and a half back to Washington D.C., where the breakup ultimately unfolded.
