Vivo Y76 5G debuts with MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset and 44W fast charging

As planned, Vivo has officially announced the new Vivo Y76 5G smartphone in the Malaysian market, where the phone starts at just RM1299 ($ 310).

The Vivo Y76 5G is built around a 6.58-inch LCD with FHD + screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 460 nits maximum brightness, and a 16MP front-facing camera for handling selfies and video calls. It doesn’t come with an in-display fingerprint scanner, but instead comes with a side scanner.

On the back of the Vivo Y76 5G, there is a rectangular camera bump that houses three cameras, including a 50MP main camera and a pair of 2MP macro lenses and bokeh. On top of that, there is also an LED flash that helps when shooting in low light.

Unlike the recently announced Vivo Y76s 5G, which was powered by MediaTek’s eight-core Dimensity 810 chipset, the Vivo Y76 5G instead uses a slightly stripped-down Dimensity 700 chipset. It will be paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in the storage department.

To keep it from catching fire, the Vivo Y76 5G is equipped with a respectable 4100mAh battery that supports 44W fast charging. Other than that, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and ships with Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 11 out of the box.

For those wondering, the Vivo Y76 5G is available in both Midnight Space and Cosmic Aurora colors. While not officially confirmed, the device is expected to hit several other Southeast Asian markets in the near future.
