Delay in Venom’s Return to Guilty Gear Strive
Fans of the Guilty Gear series will have to wait a bit longer for the beloved character Venom. Originally scheduled for release in early 2025, developer Arc System Works has announced a delay, pushing his introduction to the end of March 2025.
Reason Behind the Delay
The primary reason for this postponement comes down to quality control. Arc System Works emphasized their commitment to delivering the highest quality experience, ensuring that Venom is finely tuned upon his debut. His release is now planned after the ARC WORLD TOUR Finals 2024, taking place from March 21-23, 2025. Consequently, updates and insights regarding Venom are likely to surface during this event, with his launch anticipated to occur between March 24 and March 31, 2025.
A Legacy Character
Venom has been a notable figure in the Guilty Gear franchise since his introduction in Guilty Gear X in 2000. Although not part of the initial roster in Guilty Gear Strive, he made appearances in the prior titles, Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign and Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator.
What’s New in Season Pass 4
The first character introduced in Season Pass 4 is Queen Dizzy, marking her as the premier add-on fighter. While Dizzy requires additional payment on some platforms, she is available for free on the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, the recent November 20, 2024 patch added a new feature: the Team of 3 mode, significantly enhancing gameplay dynamics.
Future Additions
Post-Venom DLC, fans can anticipate two more characters joining the lineup: Unika, from the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime, and Lucy, a crossover character from the popular anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
Availability
Guilty Gear Strive is accessible on various platforms including the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and PC. Fans can look forward to Venom’s DLC launching in March 2025.
