Vanderpump Rules’ Ariana Madix reveals her mantra for filming season 11

In a recent interview with She Knows published on April 2, 2024, Ariana Madix candidly discussed her return to Vanderpump Rules for filming season 11 and her new rule of setting personal boundaries. She emphasized the importance of prioritizing herself and hinted at avoiding a one-on-one confrontation with her ex boyfriend, Tom Sandoval.

With season 11 marking her return to the show, Ariana remarked:

“I only had one personal boundary. It was: I’m not having a one-on-one conversation. That was it.”

The current season of Vanderpump Rules, season 11, follows the events that occurred after the Scandoval scandal. In March 2023, Tom Sandoval’s seven-month affair with Rachel Leviss was revealed, causing a major controversy.

In addition, Ariana reportedly explained her reasoning behind not wanting to confront her ex about his infidelity. The Vanderpump Rules star also mentioned:

“It’s difficult when sometimes, you know, you do have things that you feel very deeply or that maybe you do want to talk about. But you also know that going there isn’t worth it. If you go down this rabbit hole, you might not come back up from it.”

Ariana Madix Opens Up About Dealing with Public Criticism on Vanderpump Rules

During a recent interview, Ariana shared that she was prepared to face negative feedback from the public during season 11 of Vanderpump Rules. Back in November 2023, the reality star responded to a comment on Instagram, stating that she wouldn’t be shocked if viewers who had previously criticized Sandoval and Rachel would also turn their criticism towards her in the current season.

During her interview with SheKnows, Ariana revealed her reasoning behind the online comment.

“We’ve been taught not to be comfortable with things like female rage. We’ve been taught that we have to be like smiling and palatable for everyone in order to be likable.”

Despite knowing that her entire personality would not be portrayed on reality TV, Ariana remained prepared to receive all kinds of responses from viewers. She acknowledged that the editing process would determine which snippets of her screen time would be shown, but she was ready for whatever reactions may come her way. She elaborated:

“I think that on any show it’s difficult for anyone to see 360 degrees of a person. And so you know, when you’re seeing snippets here and there, I’m not in charge of what snippets are going to be seen.”

Following Scandoval, Ariana quickly rose to become a prominent Bravo TV personality, securing a multitude of exciting opportunities. These included joining the cast of Dancing With The Stars, making a guest appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, releasing her own cocktail book, and forming successful partnerships with various brands. Despite celebrating her accomplishments, Ariana emphasized the importance of taking time for herself, stating, “My mantra has always been to allow myself the necessary breaks.”

“I think what’s important for me is the off time has to be off time. Because we have our phones and we’re always reachable, sometimes it can be tough to be like, ‘This is the time I need to rest or this is the time I need to focus.’ So, really designating those times is what makes it easy for me.”

Despite being together for nine years, Tom Sandoval and Ariana’s relationship came to an end after Sandoval’s infidelity was uncovered. During the season 10 reunion, the former couple engaged in a heated argument about the cheating scandal. Rachel Leviss, who was considered a close friend by Ariana, was caught in the middle of the drama. As a result, Ariana ultimately decided to leave the show.

Episodes of Vanderpump Rules season 11 are broadcasted every Tuesday at 8 pm ET on Bravo.
