Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt Servers Sunset Scheduled for April 2026

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt to Cease Operations in April 2026

As the gaming community eagerly anticipates the release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, another title from the iconic franchise faces an unfortunate fate.Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt, a free-to-play battle royale, is scheduled to shut down its servers on April 28, 2026. This date aligns almost perfectly with the game’s version 1.0 launch on April 27, 2022, following its early access period that began on September 7, 2021.

Announcement from Developer Sharkmob

Sharkmob officially confirmed the shutdown via a statement on the game’s website, explaining that a declining player count has made it unsustainable to continue operations. This decision, while disappointing, comes as no surprise given the game’s trajectory over the past few years.

Development Ceases Amid Declining Engagement

Notably, Sharkmob pulled the plug on new content development for Bloodhunt in 2023, just a year after its launch, effectively indicating a diminished commitment to the game’s future. Player engagement has dramatically decreased, as evidenced by analyses from SteamDB, which reveal that the game last maintained a stable player base of over 1, 000 concurrent users in early 2023. Since then, only two isolated spikes in player numbers occurred in 2024, with a notable drop to just a few hundred players thereafter.

Sharkmob’s Community Appreciation

In a heartfelt message, Sharkmob expressed gratitude to the Bloodhunt community, stating, “Your passion, feedback, and creativity have truly meant the world to us.” However, the reality of the dwindling user base prompted the studio to make the difficult decision to deactivate the servers. They added, “The sun is now going to rise over Prague, ” signaling an end to the game’s journey.

Final Days and In-Game Currency

Effective immediately, players can no longer purchase in-game tokens, though those who currently possess them may continue to use them until the servers shut down. Once the deadline arrives, all remaining tokens will hold no value, further emphasizing the urgency for players to enjoy the remaining time in the game.

A Call for Celebration

Sharkmob encouraged players to celebrate their time in Prague while reflecting on the game’s contributions to the gaming landscape.“Thank you for being with us on this journey. We hope your memories from the rooftops and back alleys of Prague will stay with you as they have with us, ” they noted poignantly.

As fans await Bloodlines 2, the community must now prepare to say farewell to Bloodhunt, marking the end of an impactful chapter in the Vampire: The Masquerade saga.
