Vampire Survivors Unveils Largest DLC Featuring Epic Castlevania Crossover Launching This Month

Poncle and Konami have previously collaborated on Vampire Survivors content, but the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) is set to be their most extensive partnership to date. Announced today, Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania is described by the developers as a “celebration of all things Castlevania,”providing players with an abundance of new characters, weapons, remixed classic tracks, and more.

“It’s well known that Vampire Survivors draws heavy inspiration from The Belmont family’s relentless battle against Dracula, but we’ve truly gone all out with this DLC,”comments Poncle. “It’s enormous!”

Gamers can anticipate the addition of over 20 new playable characters in this expansion, featuring iconic figures from both the heroic and villainous sides of the beloved franchise. In addition, a vast array of whips, spells, magical weapons, projectiles, and glyphs will be introduced, resulting in an impressive arsenal of over 40 new weapons for players to wield against escalating hordes of enemies.

“In designing the weapons, we’ve aimed to achieve a balance between homage, reinterpretation, remixing, and even direct conversions of iconic Castlevania weapons,”elaborates the studio. “We’ve also introduced themed Weapon Selectors to increase character flexibility, ensuring players won’t be confined to using their default weapon if they prefer alternatives.”

Regarding the new stage, Poncle reveals that this is the largest level ever created for Vampire Survivors, filled with “sinister secrets and an array of formidable bosses.”Players can explore this stage and navigate its various biomes to begin unlocking all the exciting new DLC weapons and characters. The expansion will also support cooperative gameplay, similar to the original experience.

Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania DLC is set to launch across multiple platforms, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, as well as Android and iOS devices on October 31, at a price of $3.99. However, it remains uncertain whether this DLC will finally introduce an actual vampire character into the game.
