Halo: Campaign Evolved and Beyond According to insider leaks_infinite, the upcoming title, Halo: Campaign Evolved, marks just the start of an expansive remake project. Reports suggest that both the second and third games in the iconic franchise are in line for similar remakes, featuring optional sprint mechanics, akin to those introduced in the first installment’s remake. One pivotal reason for omitting multiplayer from these remakes is Halo Studios’ desire to maintain a unified player experience. The goal is to avoid fragmenting the fan base across various multiplayer platforms. Consequently, the highly anticipated Halo 7 will reportedly be the sole title to deliver a multiplayer experience. The leaker noted:

Halo Studios wants everyone to play Halo 7’s MP; they don’t want to create separate multiplayer experiences competing with each other. This is why they aren’t being remade individually. This is a significant aspect, particularly considering that all these titles will launch on PlayStation.

The same leaker further indicated that Halo 7 will feature its unique campaign, serving as a sequel to Halo Infinite. However, it’s worth mentioning that the multiplayer and campaign modes may not coincide in their release, reminiscent of the staggered launch with Infinite, which provided a premium campaign alongside a free-to-play multiplayer component. Interestingly, leaks_infinite expressed skepticism over whether “Halo 7” will be the final title. Developers seem to shy away from numbered entries in favor of alternative naming conventions. The restructured development team, previously known as 343 Industries, is believed to have over four projects underway. The revitalization begins with Campaign Evolved, which is set to launch later in the year for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. Notably, this remake will leverage Unreal Engine 5 technology and introduce innovations such as new weapon types, refined gameplay mechanics borrowed from subsequent titles, and three additional missions that unfold before the events of the original Halo: Combat Evolved. However, not all feedback has been positive; Jaime Griesemer, a designer from the original 2001 game, has voiced concerns regarding some of the proposed alterations.
