Recent reports suggest that the highly anticipated Streaming Feature for the PlayStation Portal handheld device could soon be on the horizon, following a leak from the PS App.

A post on the official subreddit of PlayStation Portal revealed a screenshot shared by user GetTheWetsOn. This screenshot, taken from the PS App, appears to confirm that cloud streaming of purchased digital games may soon be available for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers. Furthermore, it’s important to note that a similar confirmation was reportedly found on the store page of the Dead Space remake, although it has since been removed.

Though there is no official confirmation yet regarding the implementation of this feature, the presence of streaming confirmations on two distinct game store pages strongly suggests it is not a mere coincidence. Therefore, there is a significant likelihood that this functionality will be introduced to the PlayStation Portal.

Since its launch in 2023, the popularity of the PlayStation Portal has been unexpectedly high, prompting Sony to continuously explore ways to enhance its functionality. Enabling users to stream their owned digital PlayStation games directly, without downloading them first onto their home console, would be a major step in maximizing the system’s utility.

While the PlayStation Portal is primarily focused on Remote Play, it is not positioned as a successor to the long-awaited PlayStation Vita. Nevertheless, it excels in its intended role.
