Upcoming Halloween Audio Emoji Feature for Google Phone App

Google is currently enhancing its Phone app with several exciting new features. Recently, it was discovered that the app might soon unveil a redesigned calling interface. At present, when a call comes in, users see a single button that they can swipe up to accept or swipe down to decline.

The anticipated new call interface appears to take inspiration from the iPhone’s design, introducing two distinct buttons for either accepting or rejecting incoming calls. Additionally, another intriguing feature is being developed in time for the Halloween festivities.

With the launch of the Pixel 8a, Google introduced Audio Emojis in the Phone app, providing users with various sounds to personalize their phone calls. This feature has progressively rolled out to additional Pixel devices, and it now seems that Halloween-themed Audio Emojis are on the horizon.

An APK teardown of the latest version of the Google Phone app (version 149.0.682953539-publicbeta-pixel2024) revealed a Halloween-themed Audio Emoji. When activated, this sound emits a spooky combination of a chilling laugh, a yowling cat, and a rumbling thunder.

This new Halloween sound replaces the current party sound within the Audio Emoji selection, positioned alongside the laughing emoji and just above the drumroll sound. The team at Android Authority was able to enable this feature, although the final look of the menu might differ once it officially launches.

At this moment, Google has yet to disclose any specifics regarding the Halloween-themed Audio Emoji. However, given that it is aligned with a seasonal theme, it is expected to be available before Halloween, which occurs on October 31. Thus, users should not have to wait long for Google to refresh the Audio Emoji options in its Phone app with this spine-chilling sound.
