Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has recently received a rating in Brazil, signaling that the highly awaited sequel from Kojima Productions may be edging closer to its release. Scheduled for 2025, this installment will once again immerse players in the journey of Sam Porter Bridges as he strives to reconnect a fractured world.
Following its official announcement back in December 2022, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has become a focal point of excitement within the gaming community. Fans of the original game are eager to delve deeper into Hideo Kojima’s distinctive universe. While updates have been gradually released over the years, an exact release date for the title remains undisclosed. Anticipation is particularly high for the upcoming SXSW 2025 panel in Austin, Texas, where Kojima Productions is expected to unveil new information.
On February 13, Gematsu reported via Twitter that the game has been rated in Brazil, suggesting a significant milestone in its development timeline. This news was particularly welcomed after the game’s absence in the February 2024 State of Play presentation. Earlier this month, the game was also rated in South Korea, and it was noted that it would contain strong language, drug references, and scenes of “excessive violence.”

As updates regarding the game continue to surface, Kojima has teased fans with a clip from Death Stranding 2 while hinting at a forthcoming trailer. This sequel promises to introduce new characters, with Elle Fanning portraying Tomorrow, Shioli Kutsuna taking on the role of Rainy, and Fatih Akin playing the sentiment puppet, Dollman. Additionally, returning fan favorite Conan O’Brien will reprise his role as Sea Otter Hood.

Initially, the game’s release date was expected to be revealed during the Tokyo Game Show 2024, as Kojima indicated that the information was ready. However, he mentioned that unforeseen circumstances prevented the announcement. While many fans remain hopeful for a release before the end of 2025, there are growing concerns about the crowded year-end schedule with major titles like Borderlands 4 and Grand Theft Auto 6 likely competing for attention.
