Enthusiasts of All You Need Is Kill are in for exciting news, as an adaptation is reportedly underway, potentially launching on platforms like Netflix or hitting cinema screens soon.
According to reports from SugoiLITE and FUCE00, both of which are trusted sources for insider information, Studio 4°C, known for their work on Berserk: Golden Age, is in the process of creating an anime feature film based on the novel.

What Is All You Need Is Kill?
This captivating narrative unfolds in a future Earth besieged by extraterrestrial beings known as Mimics. The protagonist, Keiji Kiriya, is a soldier in the United Defense Force, struggling amidst a losing battle.
After a fateful encounter with a Mimic, Keiji is killed, only to find himself resurrected on the eve of combat. This time loop grants him the opportunity to hone his skills, and it isn’t long before he teams up with Rita Vrataski to combat the Mimics, which also possess the ability to manipulate time.
The novel has been adeptly adapted into a manga by Ryosuke Takeuchi and Takeshi Obata (of Death Note fame), alongside an American graphic novel iteration by Nick Mamatas and Lee Ferguson, both of which launched in 2014.
In the United States, all forms of All You Need Is Kill—the original novel, manga, and graphic novel—are published under the VIZ Media label, with the graphic novel positioned within their Haikasoru imprint.

While not universally recognized, Edge of Tomorrow is indeed based on the original Japanese novel, standing out as one of the rare American adaptations that achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim.
Despite notable alterations to the storyline—such as the renaming of the lead character to Bill Cage—the core plot remains intact, including the pivotal role of Rita Vrataski.
Whispers of a sequel have circulated, yet no official updates have emerged since 2016. Nevertheless, recent developments in 2024 revealed a partnership between Tom Cruise and Warner Bros., igniting speculation that Edge of Tomorrow 2 could be part of their upcoming projects, with Emily Blunt appearing receptive to the idea.
