Warning: Contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man Chapter #190
Chainsaw Man’s Latest Arc: A Bold Conclusion
The latest arc of Chainsaw Man has reached its climax, marking the longest storyline in Part Two thus far. This section stands out not only for its length but also for its audacious narrative moves. Among the key plot developments are the surprising death of Nayuta, an intense confrontation between Pochita and Yoru, and the ultimate defeat of a Primal Devil. Interestingly, the decisive action against the Aging Devil came not from Denji, but from an unexpected source.
Understanding Primal Devils in Chainsaw Man
In the world of Chainsaw Man, Primal Devils—the embodiments of fundamental fears—are recognized as the most formidable adversaries. The series brilliantly illustrated this with the Darkness Devil in Part One, whose overwhelming power was only negated due to Makima’s unique attributes. The recent arc further affirms this concept, showcasing the Aging Devil’s terrifying capabilities as it effortlessly countered Yoru’s formidable ‘bang’ attack. Even Pochita, in his full power, encountered considerable difficulty against this menacing foe. Yet, amidst the chaos, a lesser-known character emerged as the true architect of victory.
The Unsung Hero of the Aging Devil Arc
The Unnamed Hero of the Battle Against Aging

Within the Chainsaw Man universe, no single character could face a Primal Devil alone, illustrating the necessity of teamwork. However, the pivotal figure in this battle remained nameless. Affectionately referred to by fans as ‘Cicada Man’, he had spent decades in the Aging Devil’s realm. This enigmatic character made his entrance by mimicking cicada sounds while entwined with a tree, signifying his long-standing connection to the environment.
Feeling a sense of betrayal towards the Aging Devil for permitting Denji into their tranquil domain, ‘Cicada Man’ executed a remarkable tactical maneuver. He launched himself from Pochita’s mouth, ensnaring the Aging Devil and facilitating a contract that ultimately enabled the group to evade the devil’s vengeance. Surprisingly, in a turn of events that defies typical Fujimoto storytelling, the unnamed character emerged from the skirmish unscathed. By the conclusion of Chapter #190, aptly titled “To Their Respective Worlds,”he was depicted engaging in everyday work at a construction site.
Chainsaw Man Ready for New Challenges Ahead
Asa and Denji’s Journey Back to Normalcy Promises Turmoil

While ‘Cicada Man’ emerged from the recent chaos largely unscathed, the same cannot be said for the main protagonists of the series. Denji faced devastating losses, including family members at the hands of Barem and the malevolent Chainsaw Man Church. Meanwhile, Asa endured devastating injuries during her confrontation with Pochita, resulting in the loss of both arms, now replaced with instruments of warfare. As Chainsaw Man ventures into its next narrative territory, it’s evident that both Asa and Denji will grapple with their traumas and struggles, which may complicate their ability to face upcoming challenges.
