Unreleased M4 MacBook Pro Surfaces for Sale in Russia
Rumors suggest that Apple is set to unveil the M4 MacBook Pro at an upcoming event this month. In anticipation of its launch, several leaks have emerged, including an unboxing video showcasing the purported M4 MacBook Pro, revealing crucial information about the device.
In an unusual move, a listing for the yet-to-be-released M4 MacBook Pro has appeared on a popular Russian classified site, with an inflated price tag that raises eyebrows.
Featured on the Russian platform Avito, the listing highlights a 14-inch MacBook Pro rumored to be equipped with the M4 chip, boasting 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage—specifications that match earlier leaks. Furthermore, benchmark results from the Geekbench platform indicate that the device achieved an impressive single-core score of 3864 and a multi-core score of 15288.
The purported M4 MacBook Pro is only available in Space Black, a color that is currently exclusive to the M3 MacBook Pro and M3 Max MacBook Pro variants. As for its price, the device is listed at a staggering 720,000 Rubles (approximately $7,500), which is significantly higher than any existing MacBook Pro models.
Reports indicate that several units of this unreleased MacBook Pro with the M4 processor have surfaced for sale. This raises the possibility that a batch was stolen from a warehouse in China and subsequently made its way to Russia. Notably, the listing states that prices fluctuate daily, and potential buyers are encouraged to verify before making a purchase.
Currently, the listing has been taken down from the Avito platform, which prohibits the sale of products that have not yet been officially announced.
While the existence of the listing and prior leaks lend credibility to the information, it is wise to approach this news with caution. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is expected to launch the M4 MacBooks sometime by the end of October.
