In the enchanting world of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, players can utilize an array of valuable tools, among which the Pickaxe stands out. While it may not be essential during the early stages—unlike flippers or the snorkel—players should prioritize obtaining the Pickaxe to navigate challenges more effectively later in the game.

The crafted Pickaxe enables players to clear various obstacles found in the island’s mines and caves. Since this tool is introduced later in the game, significant progress must be made to access the quest associated with it.

To embark on the quest to acquire the Pickaxe, titled Revive The Oasis, players must complete several prerequisite tasks. The first step involves building your friendship with Pompompurin through two essential quests: Dessert-ed Boat and Parched. Achieving level 4 friendship with Pompompurin is key, and these quests are straightforward, with the latter also unlocking the soda machine.

If you’re struggling to access these quests, don’t hesitate to consult your quest tracker. Occasionally, other quests involving the characters may hinder access. As such, ensure that any characters involved are free from other responsibilities, and the quest tracker will clarify any obstacles.

After completing the initial tasks, the next challenge is to elevate your friendship level with My Melody to 11. Given that you can only give 3 gifts daily and that unlocking top-tier gifts can be time-consuming, this will require a few days of dedicated effort. Focus on presenting high-quality gifts; a top choice for a 2-heart gift is the Pink Latte, which can be crafted using Candlenut and Strawberries at the Espresso Machine located in Hangyodon’s Comedy Club.

While it might be tempting to expedite this process through time skipping, doing so can cause severe disruptions.Time skipping may corrupt your save file, leading to permanent loss of features, such as multiplayer access. It’s best to avoid this tactic for a smooth gameplay experience.

To accelerate progress without resorting to time skipping, you can utilize Friendship Blossoms to reset a character’s gifting limit for the day. These items can be obtained as rewards in specific situations or included in the Start Bundle within the Deluxe Edition of Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Once all prerequisites are satisfied, the Revive The Oasis quest—and consequently, the path to obtaining the Pickaxe—will be available.

Use a Pickaxe to Remove a Boulder Blocking Water Flow

During the Revive The Oasis quest, My Melody and Keroppi will guide you to a site where a boulder obstructs the water flow. After exploring through an additional entrance, you will discover that the boulder is immovable. Following a failed attempt to clear it, Chococat will present crafting plans for the Pickaxe to break through this barrier.

To create the Pickaxe, you will need 10 Woodblocks and 3 Iron Ingots. The Iron Ingots can be crafted from Iron Ore found on Mount Hothead, while Woodblocks can be obtained by crafting Sticks or using Coconuts, both of which are plentiful around the resort area. Once you gather the required materials, proceed to one of the crafting benches to forge your Pickaxe. Afterward, return to My Melody and use the Pickaxe to demolish the boulder, finalizing the Revive The Oasis quest.

Having acquired the Pickaxe, you can now access it via your tool wheel. Remain vigilant for breakable boulders scattered across the island, as they may conceal hidden treasures and other secrets. Furthermore, if you were unable to unlock the final Critter List for the Nature Preserve within Hello Kitty Island Adventure, this newly acquired tool will allow you to access the second-to-last room and retrieve the final list.
