The excitement surrounding Megabonk is capturing the attention of gamers everywhere. My journey into this immersive 3D adaptation of Vampire Survivors began when I tuned into popular Twitch streamers, including Shroud, showcasing the game.
At first glance, I thought, “This game feels reminiscent.”Fast forward a week, and I find myself obsessed. When I’m not engaged in a round of Megabonk, I’m either contemplating strategies or, as in this case, documenting my experiences.
Interestingly, Megabonk features a second level called the Desert, which, despite the majority of gameplay footage showing the Forest level, exists and adds depth to the experience.
While the Desert level isn’t available immediately, players can easily unlock it, especially if they enjoy battling alongside cowboy robots wielding firearms.
How To Unlock The Desert Level In Megabonk

Before diving into the unlocking process, let’s clarify some essential elements of Megabonk’s structure:
- Currently, Megabonk features two distinct levels: Forest and Desert.
- Each level consists of three tiers, with increased difficulty at higher tiers.
- In Tier 2, players will encounter an additional stage after defeating the boss, while Tier 3 presents a total of three stages to navigate.
With that foundation established, here’s how you can unlock the Desert level:
To gain access to the Desert, players must first unlock the character CL4NK, which involves acquiring the Revolver weapon and eliminating 7, 500 enemies.
Once you’ve accomplished this, you’ll need to enter the Forest Tier 2 stage as CL4NK. After defeating the initial boss, proceed through the portal into the second section of Forest Tier 2 to finally unlock the Desert level.

You will receive a notification confirming your success in meeting the unlock criteria.
Upon entering the Desert level, players will encounter a fresh array of enemies and interactive elements, all crucial for completing quests that help unlock additional characters, weapons, and tomes.
It’s important to highlight that gameplay in the Desert significantly differs from the Forest. Unlike the Forest’s undulating hills, the Desert presents a wide-open and stark landscape.
Adding to the challenge is a new boss named Lil’ Anubis, who introduces unique abilities, including a formidable rotating beam attack that players must evade.
Take your time exploring this new realm to gather everything necessary for optimizing your character and maximizing your survival duration. So gear up and get bonkin’!
