Unlocking the Black Shores in Wuthering Waves: A Step-by-Step Guide

The Black Shores is a newly added permanent region in the Wuthering Waves 1.3 update. Situated in the far east of Jinzhou city, this region is restricted until you complete the main quest of version 1.3. Progressing through the quest will ultimately unlock the entire Black Shores map, along with its interconnected regions.

Wuthering Waves: How to Unlock the Black Shores Region

To unlock the Black Shores region, players must initiate the main quest of Wuthering Waves version 1.3: Chapter I: Act VII – From the Echoes of Destruction. After the 1.3 update, this quest becomes available as soon as you have completed the necessary prerequisites.

The quest starts in the Port City of Guixu, where you will encounter Yangyang and the newly introduced 4-star Resonator, Youhu. As you advance, a Bloom Bearer agent named Niya will task you with locating her missing colleagues and ensuring their safety. Along the journey, you’ll face some Tacet Discords that you must defeat to continue. Following each enemy encounter, a dialogue will unfold, shedding light on the fate of the missing Bloom Bearer agents.

After this interaction, a cutscene will automatically transport you to the Black Shores Archipelago. Continue progressing through the quest to reveal the entire archipelago on your map. It’s essential to note that the Black Shores Archipelago is just the initial part of the full Black Shores region. You also need to unlock the Tethys’ Deep area to gain complete access to the Black Shores.

To access Tethys’ Deep, further progress in the main quest is required. You will eventually encounter a segment in the story where you are tasked with restoring corrupted Anchors located throughout the Black Shores Archipelago. Utilize the special abilities of the robot KU-Key to cleanse the corrupted cores on these Anchors.

Once you have cleansed all the corrupted Anchors, a portal will appear at the archipelago’s center. Enter the portal to access the Tethys’ Deep region, thereby unlocking the entire Black Shores map.

It is advisable to complete the main quest before venturing into the Black Shores region, as many challenges and sub-regions, including the new world boss Fallacy of No Return, are gated behind this quest’s completion.
