Hello Kitty Island Adventure offers a plethora of travel options that allow players to uncover new regions, including running, Fast Travel, ziplines, and a climbing mechanic reminiscent of Breath of the Wild. Initially, water can pose a threat, but players can eventually learn to swim—and advance to diving.
Mastering swimming and diving in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is crucial for exploring the diverse islands and their underwater realms. This guide outlines the steps to dive effectively and obtain a Snorkel in the game.
Unlocking the Snorkel in Hello Kitty Island Adventure
Step 1: Acquire the Flippers and Boost Friendship with Kuromi

To acquire the Snorkel, you must first complete the quest titled ‘Deep Diving’ and then use the Snorkel Recipe you receive as a reward.
- Unlock swimming with Flippers: Obtain the Flippers Recipe from Keroppi once he reaches Friendship Level 2.
- Increase your Friendship with Kuromi to Level 6: Before this, you must complete her initial quest, ‘Re-Haunt The Spooky Swamp’, which becomes available at Friendship Level 4.
Kuromi enjoys spooky items, particularly Jack-O-Lanterns. Present her with some Jack-O-Lanterns, and consider using a Friendship Blossom for additional daily gifts to quickly elevate her Friendship Level to 6 after you navigate the Mansion.
Once her Friendship Level reaches 6, head northwest from the Spooky Swamp Fast Travel point, where she can be found near a small pond. Engage with Kuromi, and she will request that you retrieve her lost locket from the water, lending you her Snorkel to initiate the ‘Deep Diving’ quest.
‘Deep Diving’ Quest & How to Dive in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

In order to dive while playing Hello Kitty Island Adventure, simply jump into the water and then use the right analog stick (or on-screen input) to submerge. By manipulating the analog stick, you can control your depth, but be mindful that diving deeper consumes stamina quickly.
Ascending back to the surface is far less draining on your stamina, so should you find yourself running low, resurface to recuperate.
Kuromi’s locket can be found close to the dock, and you won’t require any Golden Stamina Apple upgrades to reach it.Dive just two to three seconds up from the dock where Kuromi stands to locate it.
Locate Kuromi’s Locket, Then Craft Your Own Snorkel

Once located, retrieve Kuromi’s Locket from the lakebed beneath the dock. After surfacing, present it to Kuromi to complete the ‘Deep Diving’ quest. Although she will reclaim her Snorkel and deny you further use of it, she will reward you with a Snorkel Recipe for your own.
To craft a Snorkel, you will need:
- 2x Ingots: These can be found in Chests or crafted from 3x Iron Ore using the Ingot Crafting Plans, located left of the Dance Hall in Gemstone Mountain.
- 10x Rubber: Found on the ground at the Seaside Resort island, look for small purple orbs to collect Rubber.
- 2x Sparks: These can either be discovered in Chests or crafted using the Spark Crafting Recipe, which requires 3x Light Stones. You can earn this recipe from Pochacco upon completing the ‘A Zipline Adventure’ quest at Friendship Level 4.
After gathering all necessary materials, return to Chococat’s crafting table to create your very own Snorkel! Similar to the Flippers, the Snorkel will be automatically equipped, allowing you to initiate the Dive In action whenever you venture into deeper waters.
With the central sea of Hello Kitty Island Adventure now within your reach, you’re ready to finally meet Hangyodon and deliver the final Welcome Gift for My Melody!
