The Nightmare Crownless is a distinct variant of the Overlord-class Echoes featured in Wuthering Waves. Unlike its standard form, this version is enhanced with bonus Havoc DMG and Basic Attack DMG, making it particularly useful for specific characters in the game.
As with other Nightmare Echoes in Wuthering Waves, players can farm the Nightmare Crownless at its designated overworld spawn point. However, to confront this unique spear-wielding Echo, adventurers must first complete the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest and an additional requirement. Below, we outline the steps to unlock Nightmare Crownless.
Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide
Unlike typical quests in WuWa, the Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest is not initiated by an NPC or an interactable object. Instead, players need to access it through the Exploration Progress menu in the Penitent’s End region of Rinascita. Simply open your map and click on the compass icon located in the upper-left corner, adjacent to your current location’s name.
This quest is closely aligned with the Quest of Faith, an optional side quest that requires players to defeat four enemies situated in specific areas throughout the Penitent’s End region. To begin, navigate to the Resonance Beacon located across the broken bridge in Wailing Ascent, and interact with the prompt that appears near the circular arena adjacent to the beacon. This action triggers a confrontation with a Questless Knight, reminiscent of the opponents encountered in the Silver Moon or Crimson Moon quests.
To successfully defeat the knights, you will need to entice them into positioning themselves near a lit Macabre Torch within the arena. You can reignite the torches by luring Fae Ignis enemies to strike them. Be cautious, as utilizing high-impact skills near the torches may inadvertently extinguish them.
How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa
After successfully completing both the Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, your next objective will be to locate all four Dream Patrols in Penitent’s End. While it’s not mandatory to complete the associated challenges, doing so can yield additional resources and Monnaie that will prove beneficial in WuWa. The respective locations of these Dream Patrols are indicated in the accompanying image above. Once all patrols are found, Nightmare Crownless will become accessible on the map, located in the ruins to the north of Penitent’s End.
It’s important to note that Nightmare Echoes utilize Enhanced Absorption charges, which significantly boost the Echo drop rate. Each player receives a total of 15 charges weekly, so it’s wise to manage their usage judiciously, particularly if you intend to develop multiple characters.
