In Absolum, players can explore a vibrant world filled with diversity through four unique characters, each possessing distinct skills and strengths. Initially, players begin with two characters, but by advancing further in the game, they can unlock the remaining duo, enriching their gameplay experience.
What makes Absolum particularly engaging is the variety it offers; regardless of your preferred playstyle—be it using aerial assaults, magic spells, powerful melee attacks, or swordplay—there’s a character that will cater to your preferences.
This guide outlines how to unlock all the characters in Absolum, providing insights into each character’s moveset, helping you determine which aligns best with your tactical approach.
Starting Characters in Absolum

At the game’s commencement, players have access to two characters: Karl and Galandra. They can switch between these two freely, enhancing gameplay flexibility from the very beginning.
Karl’s primary attack strategy revolves around hand-to-hand combat complemented by a gun that unleashes Arcana attacks, allowing him to perform effectively at both close and long ranges. His powerful slam attack serves to stun adversaries, thereby disrupting their stance.
Conversely, Galandra excels in both punching and kicking techniques while wielding a sword for alternative strikes. Her melee combat is fortified by her Arcana skills, enabling her to execute potent attacks that incapacitate foes and inflict significant damage.
Unlocking Cider

You can unlock Cider after defeating the initial boss in the Grandery. Following the defeat of Gazorg, Son of Zorg, you’ll encounter Cider in the early stages of your subsequent run, initiating a dialogue that sets the stage for her inclusion in your roster.

In your next encounter with Cider, located in the forest area near the Underking’s Castle, you must assist her in overcoming a wave of enemies. Once victorious, she will agree to meet you back at the Sanctuary.

Returning to the Sanctuary after this encounter will officially unlock Cider for use in future adventures. You can find her relaxing near the bonfire alongside Gasandra and Karl.
Like Galandra, Cider also employs punches and kicks for her basic attacks. However, her unique heavy attack features a grappling hook that allows her to latch onto enemies, propelling herself into the air to deliver devastating aerial attacks.
Unlocking Brome

To unlock Brome, advance to the second region of the game, known as Jaroba, which you’ll reach after defeating the Underking and embarking on a boat ride.
Continue along the specified path until you witness a cutscene featuring enemies speaking to an NPC ensnared in vines. After neutralizing the enemies, free Vikhanna the Joyful by destroying the vines, and she will reveal Brome’s location on your map.

In addition to marking Brome’s location, Vikhanna will return to the Sanctuary and serve as a merchant, providing invaluable upgrades to your Rituals that enhance your future gameplay.
To officially unlock Brome, visit the area highlighted on your map, which is accessible by navigating further through Jaroba in a northern direction.

Upon reaching Brome’s location, you’ll need to assist him in battle. After eliminating all enemies, he will decide to join you and become a playable character.
Brome is highly regarded among players for his exceptional spellcasting abilities, making him particularly effective against formidable endgame bosses.
His attack strategy involves utilizing his staff in quick succession for basic strikes, while his powerful heavy attack produces a spell that affects all opponents surrounding him. He also possesses Arcana skills that focus on long-range magic, complete with area-of-effect damage capabilities.
