Unlock Ocean Chest: Guide to Acquiring Ocean-Themed Key in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

As you journey through Friendship Island in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you will encounter vibrant, pink treasure chests known as Radiant Chests. Unlike standard chests associated with specific quests—like those containing Bubble Wand crafting plans—these treasure chests cannot be opened without an ocean-themed key. To unlock them, you’ll need to obtain these special keys by visiting a particular plant located in Rainbow Reef.

Locating Ocean-Themed Keys

Acquiring Coral Keys

You can find the coveted Coral Keys at the Recycling Plant, situated in Rainbow Reef. Start by heading northwest from the Comedy Hall until you reach the seahorse racing minigame, which features rings encircling a statue. Continue a little further to discover the Recycling Plant, or alternatively, dive into the water just east of the Cozy Islands Mailbox to access it directly.

To earn Coral Keys, you must recycle Pieces of Trash, commonly found along the route from Comedy Hall to the Recycling Plant. Trash will respawn approximately every five minutes, although you can expedite this process by using an Island Bouquet to refresh available items.

Unfortunately, there’s no specific formula to determine the exact number of trash pieces needed to secure a Coral Key. Recycling trash may also reward you with additional items, such as Black Dye. To increase your chances of obtaining a key, it is advisable to recycle at least ten pieces of trash.

Unlocking the Recycle Plant

Initiating the “Reef Revival”Quest

Accessing the Recycling Plant is contingent upon successfully completing the “Reef Revival”quest. This quest becomes available once you fulfill these prerequisites:

Complete the “Comic Relief”quest and repair the Mermaidifier.
Finish the “Open the Nature Preserve”quest.
Achieve level 11 friendship status with Hello Kitty.

After fulfilling these conditions, seek out Keroppi at the pier located near Chococat and the Resort Gate. He will lead you to Rainbow Reef and the Recycling Plant. Once there, you’ll need to collect 10 pieces of trash to feed to the plant. It’s wise to gather more than the minimum requirement to ensure you have enough for the process.

During the initial tutorial for the Recycling Plant, you will receive x1 Coral Spores. These can be planted in empty beds scattered throughout Rainbow Reef. Depending on the type of coral you choose to cultivate, various fish species will be attracted to your garden.

Once the Recycling Plant is operational, continue gathering and recycling trash in Rainbow Reef. Although you will eventually secure a Coral Key, it’s important to note that each key is single-use, necessitating the collection of multiple keys for the various treasure chests scattered throughout Island Adventure.
