Requirements:
Initially, ensure your computer meets the following specifications: at least 8GB of RAM, an SSD, and a GPU from the RTX 30 series or superior. You will also need the subsequent items:
- Stability Matrix
- A Flux.1 model
- VAE file for Flux.1
How to Download and Install Stability Matrix
The first step is to acquire Stability Matrix and install it on your PC.
Select your operating system to initiate the download of the ZIP file. Make sure you have an extraction program like WinRAR, 7-ZIP, or Pea Zip to unpack the contents.
After extraction, run the installer and be sure to opt for the portable installation version. This simplifies future file management and allows easy additions to the directory without having to search extensively for file paths. Remember to take note of where the Data folder is created, as it will be valuable for the next steps.
Downloading the Flux Model and VAE Files
With Stability Matrix successfully installed, it’s time to proceed with acquiring the Flux AI model, essential for generating images from your text prompts. This model is available for free, though it comes in a larger file size. You can access and download the model from this Hugging Face page, where you will find the flux1-dev-bnb-nf4-v2.safetensors file. Simply click the download icon beside it.
For the VAE file, head over to this Hugging Face page, and download the file labeled ae.safetensors. This download is relatively smaller in size at 335 MB.
Arranging the Downloaded Files
To find this folder, navigate to the Data folder, then to Models, and finally to Stability Matrix.
Next, you need to place the VAE file into the VAE folder within the Models directory under the Data folder. The path will look like this – Data > Models > VAE.
With the files organized, you are ready to initiate Flux AI through Stability Matrix.
Setting Up the Stable Diffusion Web UI
