This season in Fortnite, what used to be known as Mythic weapons has been rebranded as Enhanced weapons. The reason for this change remains unclear, but it’s not just the nomenclature that has transformed; the methods of obtaining these powerful armaments have also evolved in Chapter 6, Season 1.
To those who may not be well acquainted with Mythic weapons, they are essentially upgraded versions of standard weapons, boasting increased damage, faster firing rates, and quicker reload times. Typically, only one of each type of Mythic weapon is available at a time, and finding them can be quite challenging.
What Are the Enhanced Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 1?
With the onset of Chapter 6, gamers are introduced to a completely revamped loot pool that includes new shotguns, SMGs, assault rifles, and even a katana. This season features eight new weapons, seven of which have their Enhanced variants. The Enhanced weapons available this season are:
- Enhanced Fury Assault Rifle
- Enhanced Holo Twister Rifle
- Enhanced Oni Shotgun
- Enhanced Sentinel Pump Shotgun
- Enhanced Twin Fire Auto
- Night Rose Precision Veiled SMG
Please note that this guide will not cover masks, even though they have Enhanced versions, as they do not classify as weapons.
How to Locate Enhanced Weapons
In Chapter 6, the method of acquiring Enhanced weapons has shifted significantly. Previously, players could defeat Boss NPCs located at points of interest (POIs) to obtain Mythic weapons. Each specific weapon was tied to a unique Boss NPC nationwide.
This season, however, only two Boss NPCs exist in the game, each associated with different Enhanced weapons. Here’s how to secure them:
- For the Night Rose Precision Veiled SMG, the process remains unchanged. Venture to her designated area, face off against the Night Rose boss, and she will drop the Enhanced SMG, accompanied by the Night Rose Medallion upon her defeat.
- To obtain the other weapons, seek out the Shogun X boss. His spawn is random and marked by a Samurai icon on the map. Engage him in a battle, but be prepared—he will teleport to a different location once he reaches 25% health, dropping one of the six Enhanced Weapons (barring the Typhoon Blade).
- As the battle continues, the Shogun X will repeatedly teleport, preventing easy pursuit for additional weapon drops. However, in the fourth storm circle, a special arena for Shogun X will emerge, allowing you to challenge him once more for the chance to claim an enhanced weapon and the Enhanced Typhoon Blade.
The probability of encountering Shogun X at the start of the match is not guaranteed; nevertheless, the arena will always materialize.
Strategies for Defeating the Bosses
This season has also altered the dynamics of boss fights. Rather than simply attacking the NPC until their health is depleted, players must now navigate more complex challenges. Below are tips for overcoming each boss.
Defeating Shogun X – Roaming and Arena
Track down Shogun X on your map, identified by a prominent oni mask icon. Equip yourself and head to the marked location. The battle itself isn’t overly daunting, consisting of two primary attacks: fireball blasts and katana slashes while teleporting.
Maintain your mobility to sidestep his assaults while unloading your firepower into him. Once he hits 25% health, he will drop a random enhanced weapon and teleport away.
The arena battle mirrors the roaming fight, but expect more formidable attacks. Utilize the same strategy: keep moving and shooting. Should you emerge victorious, you will receive the Shogun X Medallion, an enhanced weapon, and the Enhanced Typhoon Blade.
Defeating Night Rose
Night Rose can be found within the Demon’s Dojo POI, specifically in a room featuring a Sumo ring. To initiate combat, step into the ring; you are free to move around afterward, but entrance into the ring is mandatory to trigger the fight.
Attack Night Rose vigorously as she presents two distinct phases:
- A phase where she utilizes an SMG
- A phase where she unleashes fireballs via a demonic oni mask
During the first phase, direct your fire at Night Rose. In the second phase, focus your aim on the eyes of the mask. This exchange will continue through multiple cycles until her health bar is depleted. Upon her defeat, expect drops of the Night Rose Medallion, a random Boon (not guaranteed), the Enhanced Veiled Precision SMG, and Night Rose’s Void Oni Mask.
Overview of Medallions
The Medallions serve as tokens of the bosses’ unique powers, granting players beneficial buffs when collected.
- The Night Rose Medallion enables continuous loading of bullets into your weapons.
- The Shogun X Medallion provides infinite stamina and grants invisibility while sprinting.
