Sniper Elite: Resistance offers players a primary Starting Location for each mission, but many chapters also feature alternate starting points. Unlocking these secondary locations typically involves lighting a fire or unlocking specific gates, which adds an extra layer of exploration to the gameplay. Players must actively seek out these points on their maps, as they do not appear readily available from the onset.
Exploring the maps can sometimes turn into a frustrating experience, particularly when players are unable to identify the locations they need. Having clear guidance on where to find these alternate Starting Locations can save considerable time and effort. Upon unlocking these locations, players can more easily tackle the Kill List Challenges that lie ahead.
Mission 2: Starting Locations in Sniper Elite: Resistance

Unlike Mission 1, which has no alternate Starting Locations, Mission 2: Dead Drop provides players with three options:
- To access the first location, players should maneuver to the left after getting over or under the wall. A blue eye icon will appear on the map when close, indicating the location. The Scafford Yard Starting Location can be unlocked by picking the lock on a blue door adjacent to some scaffolding. Caution is advised, as this area teems with enemies—players should anticipate combat until they achieve an “All Clear”status.
- The second starting location lies near the tunnel entrance in the library gardens. Players should navigate to the top left of the map along the road, taking a left after passing the second house to reveal another blue eye icon. Unlocking the corresponding blue door grants access to the Citadel Apartments Starting Location.
Mission 3: Starting Locations in Sniper Elite: Resistance

The first Starting Location is accessible via the road level near a bridge that crosses the river. Players should descend the first set of stairs after crossing to find a gate that, when unlocked, reveals the Signal Box Starting Location. This location provides a tactical advantage by allowing easier access to the trait station, minimizing engagements with enemies.
For the second Starting Location, known as the Parkview Apartments, players must move north across the left bridge, turning right after the bridge to navigate through alleyways to the marked building. Unlocking the room in the top right corner of that structure grants access to this significant alternative point, especially beneficial for collecting items in Mission 3.
Mission 4: Starting Locations in Sniper Elite: Resistance

At this mission’s outset, players will use a zipline from one side of the map to the other, ultimately reaching a campground area named Dam Lookout. Players must light a fire there to unlock this Starting Location.
Crossing the dam leads players to a small house where they must place a satchel charge to demolish the engine room. Behind this structure lies a locked gate that, once unlocked, reveals the Power Station Starting Location.
Additionally, opposite the area where the satchel charge is placed is another locked door that houses a workbench for upgrades essential to navigating the game.
Mission 5: Starting Locations in Sniper Elite: Resistance

Players should keep to the right side from the default location in this mission. Look for a large open hanger by the lake; there, they will find netting to climb. At the top, a campfire can be lit, unlocking the Quarry Lake Starting Location.
To efficiently access the Coastal Landing Starting Location, players can restart the mission and head north along the designated roads. This area is also vital for completing the exfiltration objective. Those tackling the game on authentic difficulty should prioritize unlocking this location early on.
Mission 6: Starting Locations in Sniper Elite: Resistance

This mission requires players to eliminate a tank, so packing a satchel charge is essential. Following the default position, players should advance north through a checkpoint and prepare for enemy resistance. Once the tank is dealt with, players will locate their first Kill List Target, Uwe Schoene, on the right side of the map.
Following the road rightward, a turn will lead them to one of the AA guns lying in ruins—behind this, players will find the Breached Wall Starting Location. After completing primary objectives, players can head towards the exfiltration point located on the top left, taking a detour to a small wooden cabin where unlocking a blue door allows access to the Checkpoint Cabin Starting Location.
It’s noteworthy that players can collect all three Stone Eagles within this map before moving from the initial Starting Location.
Mission 7: Starting Locations in Sniper Elite: Resistance

Upon starting Mission 7, players will have a side objective to eliminate various enemy snipers, including one positioned at a windmill. Lighting a campfire at the ground level of the windmill unlocks the Windmill Starting Location, easily spotted by noting the location on the Kill List Challenge and moving southwest.
The second available Starting Location will be found by taking the main road to the opposite side of the map. Players should observe a gate situated between a house and a shed, which, when unlocked, provides access to the Western Farmhouse Starting Location.
Additionally, players may discover a gnome nearby, though it is not the one needed for achievements or trophies.
Mission 8: Starting Locations in Sniper Elite: Resistance

From the initial Starting Location, players should proceed to the railyard, following the leftmost rail until spotting a sizable blue building. A campfire can be lit in front of this structure to unlock the Bombed Factory Starting Location.
Next, cross over to the far right corner of the map to find a bridge adorned with multiple arches. A sniper’s nest will be visible to the left of it, and lighting a campfire found shortly thereafter unlocks the Eastern Railyard Starting Location. This area is particularly advantageous for stealthily completing Hermann Gottschalk’s Kill List Challenge.
