Undisputed, developed by Steel City Interactive, will see its next major update released sometime in “early to mid-April.”While the details of this upcoming update remain under wraps, it promises significant improvements and additional content, including new fight robes for selected boxers. Fans have been eagerly waiting since the last substantial update rolled out in December 2024.

The boxing video game landscape has been rather barren, particularly with EA’s Fight Night series remaining inactive for years. While rumors have emerged about a potential revival of this franchise, currently, Undisputed stands alone as a major title among boxing games. Unfortunately, despite its initial promise during early access, the full launch has faced criticism due to various gameplay issues, particularly within its online mode. Player feedback has been mixed, highlighting ongoing concerns about the game’s performance.

Anticipation Surrounding Undisputed’s Next Update

As January came to a close, Steel City Interactive updated fans on the ongoing development efforts for Undisputed. While specifics about gameplay adjustments were sparse, the studio’s CEO noted that enhancing online play is their top priority. After a major playtest on Steam earlier this year, they confirmed they are aiming for an “early to mid-April”release for the upcoming update. Another user, Low_Maintenance_7963, suggested that Steel City should prioritize a fix for this bug before the next update, reflecting a shared sentiment among the community.

While the 8th round bug is a critical point of concern, it is not the sole issue the community has voiced. Other significant problems, such as persistent hit registration failures that have hindered the gameplay experience since the official launch, continue to plague players. Thankfully, following the aforementioned playtest in January, Steel City reported progress towards enhancing punch accuracy and refining blocking mechanics. They also indicated intentions to resolve the 8th round scoring issue, alongside other gameplay concerns, during the upcoming update. Unfortunately, it appears that players will have to endure these problems for an additional two months.
