The creaking heart is a brand-new block that symbolizes the core of the Creaking mob. Players won’t be able to defeat this entity using traditional combat, as it can heal itself by absorbing health from its source block. Therefore, to eliminate the Creaking, players must first locate and destroy its heart.

This heart can be discovered embedded within several pale oak trees found in the Pale Garden biome.

How Does the Creaking Heart Interact with Redstone Comparators?

In the recent 1.21.2 pre-release 1 update, Mojang introduced functionality that allows the creaking heart block to send redstone signals, which can be detected by redstone comparators. Interestingly, the intensity of these signals varies based on the proximity of the Creaking mob to its heart.

Testing showed that when positioned adjacent to its heart block, the Creaking mob generates a maximum of 15 redstone signal units. Conversely, if it moves away, only a single redstone lamp may light up, indicating a much weaker signal.

Players experimenting in survival mode will observe an increase in illuminated redstone lamps when the Creaking mob is led away from its heart block and then guided back. This is because the mob follows the player, effectively moving closer to its heart, thus amplifying the redstone signal output.
