Emerging details have shed light on the tragic demise of Liam Payne, a former member of One Direction. The Argentine National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 16 disclosed the cause of death in an official statement on October 17, following the incident where the musician fell from the third-story balcony of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires.

According to the announcement, the 31-year-old singer succumbed to “polytrauma” along with “internal and external hemorrhage.”

The term polytrauma, as defined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, refers to the condition in which an individual suffers injuries across multiple body parts, affecting various organ systems simultaneously.

Fox News noted that experts identified:

“Craniocerebral injuries were substantial enough to result in death, while both internal and external hemorrhages in the skull, chest, abdomen, and limbs further contributed to the fatal outcome.”

It remains unclear whether substances such as alcohol or drugs were present in his system at the time of death. The forensic report indicated:

On the day Liam Payne passed away, local authorities in Argentina received a 911 call from the hotel where he was lodged. A member of the staff reported that a guest was causing damage to items in the room and appeared to be under the influence of substances.

This call was allegedly made mere moments before the musician’s death. The individual did not mention Liam Payne by name during the conversation. The hotel staff member was heard saying:

“Whenever he regains consciousness, he’s breaking… everything in the room. We require assistance, please.”

The staff member conveyed concerns about the guest’s safety, adding:

“We urgently need help because we’re uncertain if he’s at risk. The guest is in a room with a balcony, and we’re a bit worried he might take life-threatening actions.”

During his visit to Argentina, the singer was accompanied by his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. The couple had attended a concert by their One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan, at the Movistar Arena. Cassidy left the country on October 14, while Payne checked into the mentioned hotel.
