Titled simply A Minecraft Movie, this live-action adaptation of the beloved sandbox game is being helmed by Jared Hess, known for his work on Napoleon Dynamite. New Minecraft-Flavored Doritos to Debut
This month, Frito-Lay will launch two Minecraft-themed flavors, inspired by iconic mobs from the game. The first, Creeper Vinegar, promises a “zesty”explosion of flavor, while the second option, Ghast BBQ, will feature a delightful “sweet and tangy”taste. Although these flavors will carry the Minecraft branding for a limited run, they will eventually become permanent items in the Doritos lineup under new names: Zingy Vinegar Blast and BBQ Sweet Tang, post-campaign.
Exciting Contest with Unique Square Doritos Chips
In addition to the new flavors, Frito-Lay is introducing an engaging contest featuring square-shaped tortilla chips—something never seen before in the Doritos lineup. These square chips will not be sold directly; instead, they will be concealed within limited-edition packs of 180g Chili Heatwave Doritos. Customers can seek out these unique chips at select retailers from February 28 to March 10, with hints about their locations to be released soon.
For those unable to find the physical square chips, an online opportunity awaits. From February 17 to April 13, participants can partake in a digital hunt for replicated square Doritos chips by scanning QR codes on promotional chip packs. Those who successfully find either the real or digital square chips will be eligible for exciting cash prizes of up to £10, 000, along with other rewards such as A Minecraft Movie-themed merchandise and free cinema tickets, offered every hour from 6 A. M.to 11:59 P. M.
Campaign Exclusively in the U. K.
Currently, the promotional campaign surrounding A Minecraft Movie is limited to the United Kingdom, with no confirmation yet from Mojang or Frito-Lay regarding availability in other countries, such as the U. S., Canada, or Mexico. Given the substantial effort behind this campaign, the exclusive focus on the U. K.raises some questions about its reach. Nevertheless, Minecraft fans outside the U. K.may still look forward to eventually enjoying the Zingy Vinegar Blast and BBQ Sweet Tang Doritos flavors in the future.
