Understanding Metaphor ReFantazio: An In-Depth Guide to New Game+
Metaphor ReFantazio, the latest turn-based JRPG from Sega and Atlus—renowned creators of the acclaimed Persona series—presents an expansive and intricate campaign mode brimming with a variety of side quests and engaging activities for players to explore in its richly crafted world.
One beloved feature that many RPG enthusiasts appreciate is the New Game+ option. This mode allows players to experience the narrative once more, but with all the items, skills, and upgrades acquired during the initial playthrough intact. Metaphor ReFantazio incorporates this mechanic. Here’s an overview of what you should know.
Understanding New Game+ in Metaphor ReFantazio
To unlock New Game+, players must first reach the game’s true ending. If a bad ending occurs, a notification stating “Fantasy is Dead”will appear, preventing access to this feature. Moreover, among the five difficulty levels, the hardest one, termed “Regicide,”becomes available exclusively in New Game+.
To initiate a New Game+ file, navigate to the main menu following the end credits. Select the “Clear Data”option, which permits the start of a New Game+ session.
Here’s a rundown of what carries over into the New Game+:
- Total playtime
- Progression in Archetypes (Note: Archetypes must be unlocked again)
- All Reeve and MAG collected
- All Gold Beetles obtained
- All Memorandum entries discovered
- All items collected (excluding certain story-specific items)
- All Royal Virtues
Keep in mind that while Archetypes are retained, players will need to unlock them anew to continue their ranking development. Additionally, players will face a new formidable boss: the Redscale Dragon, which can be summoned through the Book of the Apocalypse located in Akademia.
While the option to engage this boss appears during the first playthrough, the game’s character More advises against it at that time. However, this advisory lifts in New Game+. Please note that players cannot take on this boss under the Storyteller difficulty mode.
