Doom Match is fundamentally a free-for-all deathmatch, where participants strive to achieve 16 Final Hits. Players can select any character available in Marvel Rivals, making every match a chaotic and thrilling experience devoid of teams. The matches divide players into two brackets of six, distinguishing winners from losers. The competition for the coveted sixth spot can be fierce, but if you manage to position yourself among the top five, maintaining your rank should be relatively easier—assuming you can fend off challengers.

What’s the Point of Doom Match?
More than just a casual setting, Doom Match operates similarly to an Arcade mode like Conquest (Team Deathmatch). It’s not only entertainment; it’s a perfect warm-up tool. Engaging in matches via the normal matchmaking system leads to the thrilling race for the top six placements. Alternatively, selecting Doom Match through the Practice menu offers a distinct experience—an unrestricted hour-long lobby devoid of competition, where you can refine your skills without the pressure of winning.
How to Trigger Portals in Marvel Rivals Doom Match
During Season 1, players receive missions to activate portals within Doom Match. To accomplish this, actively seek out and interact with the purple rifts scattered throughout the map, particularly in outdoor areas. Completing this task is crucial, as similar objectives may arise during events or daily missions, rewarding players with valuable in-game currencies like Lattices and Units.
Note that triggering portals only counts when participating in a Doom Match through the Change Mode menu, not in the Practice mode.
