Understanding Infected Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

This article provides an in-depth look at the exciting new Infected mode featured in Black Ops 6.

Guide to Playing Infected Mode in Black Ops 6

The Infected mode in Black Ops 6 brings a fresh and thrilling twist to the Zombie gameplay experience. Players are split into two distinct teams: Survivors and Infected. At the start of each round, a 15-second countdown labeled “Infection Occurs“initiates. Once this timer runs out, participants are randomly assigned to one of the two factions.

The premise of the game is straightforward: players assigned to the Infected team must assault the Survivors in order to turn them Infected, while the Survivors need to defend themselves against the attacks until the round concludes. If, by the end of the round, the Survivors outnumber the Infected, they claim victory; however, the opposite holds true as well.

Survivors are equipped with various weapons to protect themselves against the Infected. Conversely, Infected players are limited to melee weapons, which they use to transform Survivors into fellow Infected.

When a Survivor is struck by an Infected opponent, they instantly join the ranks of the Infected. On the flip side, if Survivors manage to attack an Infected player, that player respawns within a second, intensifying the challenge.

Additionally, Activision recently announced during the Warzone and Black Ops 6 Season 1 update that the iconic Nuketown map will be showcased starting on November 1, 2024. Thus, players can anticipate the arrival of this mode to Nuketown in the near future.
