Understanding Blood Resonance Events in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

In Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, a significant aspect of your vampire existence is maintaining the Masquerade while satisfying your bloodlust. Fortunately, the streets of Seattle are teeming with potential donors.

Your quest for blood not only fuels your survival but also allows you to unlock powerful new abilities and regain the prowess of an elder. To achieve this, you’ll need to engage in various events to collect the vital resource you seek.

This guide will breakdown the three primary Blood Resonance events in Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, equipping you to successfully acquire the blood of Seattle’s citizens.

Choleric

The first Blood Resonance type you’ll encounter is Choleric, which I liken to “anger blood.”This event involves targeting individuals who are visibly aggressive towards you in Seattle’s urban landscape.

Choleric events are marked on your map with a distinctive red symbol. As you near your target, you’ll notice a red marker above their head, identifying them as your prey. These individuals are typically consumed by anger, and engaging them will prompt an immediate attack.

To successfully gather their blood, avoid retaliating. Instead, lead them into a secluded alleyway where you can safely bite them, thus preserving the Masquerade. Successfully extracting their blood will yield a reward of 100 points.

Sanguine

Next, we have the Sanguine Blood Resonance events, which grant you access to lustful blood. This type of event is indicated by a pink symbol on the map, and you’ll notice the same symbol hovering above your intended victim as you approach.

Upon interaction with a Sanguine target, expect them to exhibit flirtatious behavior, convinced of their infatuation with your character. Lead them away discreetly to an alleyway, and when the moment is right, indulge yourself by feeding without attracting attention.

Melancholic

The final type is Melancholic, representing the blood of fear. This event is denoted by a purple symbol on the map and above the heads of targeted victims.

Melancholic individuals are often seen engaging in illegal activities, such as vandalism or robbery. Interacting with them will evoke a sense of fear. Utilizing the Lasombra ability known as Glimpse of Oblivion can make this process easier, as it instills fear in various NPCs, allowing you to feed on them afterward.

Once frightened, the individual will likely attempt to escape, seeking help. Pursue them until they reach a secluded area, typically an alleyway or deserted street, where you can bite them without drawing the attention of others. Be vigilant, as delay may cause them to attract more people, potentially leading to a breach of the Masquerade. And don’t forget to look for collectibles while you follow them, such as crosses.
