Ultimate Guide to Turbulent Timeways in World of Warcraft

Even though the 20th Anniversary celebration has concluded in World of Warcraft, players can still engage in exciting events while anticipating the upcoming release of Patch 11.1. Following the pattern set during the Dragonflight expansion, the Turbulent Timeways event has made a comeback, offering a unique opportunity for players to earn special rewards by stacking the Mastery of Timeways buff.

Understanding the Turbulent Timeways Event

Unlike the usual distribution of weekly Timewalking events, the Turbulent Timeways event features an exciting schedule with five consecutive Timewalking dungeons available from January 1 through February 25. Each week is dedicated to a different expansion’s dungeons, arranged as follows:

  • Week 1: Mists of Pandaria (January 7 to January 14)
  • Week 2: Warlords of Draenor (January 14 to January 21)
  • Week 3: Legion (January 21 to January 28)
  • Week 4: Classic (January 28 to February 4)
  • Week 5: The Burning Crusade (February 4 to February 11)
  • Week 6: Wrath of the Lich King (February 11 to February 18)
  • Week 7: Cataclysm (February 18 to February 25)

Players earn a buff called Knowledge of Timeways every time they successfully complete a Timewalking Dungeon. This buff endures for two hours, does not expire upon death, and grants a 5% experience boost from monster kills and quest completions. Once players accumulate four stacks of the Knowledge of Timeways buff, it evolves into the Mastery of Timeways buff, which not only extends the duration to three hours but also amplifies the experience gain from activities by 30%. Similar to the previous buff, Mastery of Timeways remains intact even upon death, and players can refresh the timer by completing additional Timewalking Dungeons.

To maintain and attain the Mastery of Timeways, it is crucial to gather four stacks of Knowledge of Timeways without letting any stack expire. Players should be mindful of avoiding long periods of inactivity to ensure they do not lose their stacks. Should the duration of Knowledge of Timeways run out prior to reaching four stacks, players will have to restart the process.

Exploring Turbulent Timeways Rewards

Curious if there’s more to the Turbulent Timeways event beyond simply gaining useful buffs for leveling alternate characters? Indeed, players can acquire several exciting rewards during this event. Notably, the Sandy Shalewing mount can be purchased from Timewalking Vendors for 5,000 Timewarped Badges. This particular mount first appeared during the prior iteration of the Turbulent Timeways event in Dragonflight.

In addition to the returning Sandy Shalewing, players can also earn a brand-new mount called the Timely Buzzbee. To obtain this mount, it’s essential to achieve the Mastery of Timeways buff on five out of the seven weeks that the Turbulent Timeways event is available.
