Mastering the Storm Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
While the Storm quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 may appear straightforward, it presents significant challenges, particularly in its stealth mechanics. The objective is to infiltrate Trosky Castle, reclaim Henry’s sword, and confront a long-standing adversary. However, the real complexity unfolds during your escape, featuring some of the game’s toughest stealth scenarios.
This comprehensive guide will provide you with strategies and the safest route to successfully navigate your way out of Trosky Castle.
Embarking on the Storm Quest: Locate Orders in the Scribe’s Chamber
The initial phase of the Storm quest incorporates several optional tasks alongside the primary goal of finding orders in the scribe’s chamber. A crucial aspect here is retrieving your lost possessions, which conveniently occurs in the same area relevant to the main quest, allowing you to explore without excessive worry.
Upon regaining control of Henry following the cutscene, your first objective is to loot the deceased guard. At this stage, the risk of becoming overencumbered is minimal since you have lost your gear. Adopting the guise of a guard rather than appearing as a half-clothed captive significantly reduces your visibility during stealth sections; an essential consideration given your limited combat capability during this part of the journey. Attempting combat is ill-advised, as your chances of victory are slim.

After equipping a complete set of gear, make sure to wash up in the trough, then attach a torch to your belt. Keep the torch off unless necessary for illumination. Proceed from the dungeon via the stairs at the north end while remaining crouched to minimize noise. You may find some food in the next room, but continue climbing up the stairs and extinguish your torch if it’s lit.
As you advance, you will encounter a soldier, indicated by game dialogue. Stay crouched, approach stealthily from behind, and make a choice between incapacitating or eliminating them.Incapacitating is generally more straightforward as it avoids the need for completing complex stealth kill inputs.

Ascend the stairs at the opposite end of the room, bypassing the next flight of stairs. Look for a shadowy door that opens to another gallery. Navigate through this space, turning right onto a wooden walkway. After a cutscene, continue southwest along the walkway into an opulent room. You can choose to ignore the guard on the walkway unless they pose an immediate threat.
At the far end of this room, discover a door leading to another staircase. You will find a drunken guard at the top, who is likely to doze off shortly. Handle him as you see fit, then ascend again to reach a door perfectly aligned with the quest marker on your map, revealing the scribe’s quarters. Explore all the chests and bookshelves, but remain mindful of your carrying limit, as you’ll ultimately conclude that the orders are not located here.
Continue to follow the D quest marker, ascending further until you arrive at Istvan Toth’s chamber.
Confronting Istvan Toth: Should You Fight or Sneak?

Your best move is to kill him. Even if you are outfitted with guard armor or items retrieved from the scribe’s chamber, Henry lacks the readiness for a fair fight against Toth. The quicker and safer approach involves simply throwing the enemy out of the tower window.
Proceed up the stairs, enter Toth’s chamber, and retrieve your confiscated belongings and the keys to the castle from the chest situated within.
Continuing the Quest: Finding Sigismund’s Orders in von Bergow’s Chambers
Your next objective is to backtrack eastward across the castle towards Godwin’s location. This path should be secure, provided you have dealt with prior guards. Once inside von Bergow’s chambers, search thoroughly. Although you may not find any significant items, avoiding encumbrance is key. Search for the orders contained in a small chest on a desk, then follow Godwin to commence your escape from Trosky Castle.
Final Steps: Escaping Trosky Castle and Meeting Mika
The subsequent phase of the quest may seem daunting due to the presence of numerous guards patrolling the eastern side of the castle, particularly since you are unarmed for combat. There exists, however, a quick route that circumvents most guards, leading you to Mika and the abandoned camp while minimizing confrontations.
Before departing the tunnels, consider using a Nighthawk potion if you possess one. If not, don’t fret; simply follow a compass bearing to navigate the safest path.

As you exit the tunnels, observe the positioning of guards ahead, with additional guards located off to your left, and one on the right, moving eastward. Maintain a safe distance from the guard you are following. The path you take will veer southeast almost consistently; by remaining crouched, you can avoid detection from the guards below.

The guard you are following eventually turns left, looking out over the encampment, while another heads up the hill to your right, which works to your advantage. Follow the quest marker that directs you between these two guards. You will see an enemy camp to your right and the abandoned camp on your left. A guard will be confronting Mika in the abandoned camp, but his back is turned to you. Stealthily approach to incapacitate or eliminate this guard, then speak with Mika to conclude the Storm quest.
Once the quest finishes, your next destination is Kuttenberg. However, if you haven’t yet done so, consider returning to Trosky to collect the Vidlak Bandit’s treasure and the Map Left by the Deceased, and make sure to complete Mutt’s quest as well.
