The game Dead Take, available on Steam, immerses players in a sprawling mansion reminiscent of those constructed by the notorious Umbrella Corporation. Navigating through this labyrinthine building can prove to be quite harrowing, especially when faced with the ever-frustrating tile puzzle that disrupts the experience.
As players delve deeper into the narrative of Dead Take, they will eventually unlock access to the mansion’s exterior, leading to a separate wing boasting a pool and sauna area. These features serve as tantalizing hints towards the indulgent activities that once took place there.
Prominently positioned near the entrance is an impressive statue of a Greek god wielding a trident. It’s crucial for players to examine this statue closely, as there’s a dagger lodged into its side, which is essential for solving a future puzzle.
Upon closer inspection, it’s apparent that the statue’s trident is missing the tips of its prongs. Players can locate these missing tips by completing specific puzzles located in three different areas: one within the sauna, another in a maze, and the last in a bathroom that features a tile positioned at its center.
The sauna puzzle revolves around basic arithmetic, requiring players to manipulate vents to achieve the target temperature of 185 degrees. Meanwhile, the maze puzzle necessitates placing four items on a pedestal, each corresponding to the four cardinal directions.
To retrieve the third and final prong of the trident, players must navigate and complete the tile puzzle in the designated room. I’ve preemptively solved this puzzle to assist players in easily traversing the Cain mansion.
Tile Puzzle Solution for Dead Take

Upon the initial activation of the tile mechanism, players will notice that the outer ring remains static. The key to the challenge lies in maneuvering the three inner rings into alignment to replicate the final image displayed. This requires players to rotate the discs using the left control stick, which can be quite cumbersome.
For those uncertain about the final image formation, refer to the visual above. It serves as a helpful guide for achieving the correct arrangement of the tile puzzle.
It is advisable to begin with the outer ring. This approach is strategic, as adjusting the inner rings can disrupt their alignment due to the interconnected nature of the rings. By aligning the outer edge first, players can more effectively work their way inward without losing their progress.
Upon successfully solving the tile puzzle, the completed structure will break into four segments, revealing one of the three trident prongs. This prong is essential for completing the trident; once all three are assembled, a staircase will materialize, granting access to the next section of the mansion.
