Players can expect a significant uptick in the presence of Team GO Rocket members at PokéStops and from balloons during this event, including encounters with Grunts, Leaders, and Giovanni himself. This year’s Pokémon GO Fashion Week Taken Over 2025 brings the official arrival of two exciting new Pokémon: Shroodle and its evolution, Grafaiai. Hailing from Generation 9’s Paldea region, these unique Poison- and Normal-type Pokémon promise to be a thrilling addition to any trainer’s roster. Trainers will soon find Shroodle hatching from 12km eggs, known for their rarity and the extraordinary Pokémon they yield.

To evolve Shroodle into Grafaiai, trainers will need a total of 50 Shroodle candies. This can be achieved by hatching multiple Shroodles, using rare candies, or having Shroodle as the buddy Pokémon for walks. 12km eggs are typically awarded when trainers defeat Team GO Rocket Leaders, provided egg storage slots are available.

In addition, several new shadow Pokémon will debut, prominently featuring Shadow Palkia—one of the strongest Dragon-types in the game. Participating in the event will unlock a new Special Research task, culminating in a battle with Boss Giovanni. Successfully defeating him will grant players the opportunity to capture Shadow Palkia, with the research available until March 4, 2025, as part of the Dual Destiny season. Once initiated, trainers can complete the subsequent stages at their own pace.

Alongside Shadow Palkia, trainers can also catch six additional Shadow Pokémon for the first time: Taillow, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Trubbish, and Bunnelby. These Pokémon can be encountered by challenging Rocket Grunts and Team GO Leaders like Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra, with each having a chance to appear in their shiny form upon successful capture.

All Raids During Fashion Week: Taken Over 2025

The event will also feature an updated lineup of shadow raids. While new shadow Pokémon are not being introduced, the existing roster holds immense potential for trainers. In the 1-star shadow raids, trainers can engage with Shadow Nidoran (both male and female), along with Totodile and Ralts. These raids are manageable solo if trainers utilize effective Pokémon against them. Both Nidoran and Ralts also offer a chance of shiny variants during this period.

Gyms not controlled by Team GO Rocket will showcase the standard raid options currently in circulation, allowing players diverse battle experiences.

For a greater challenge, three 3-star shadow raids will include formidable opponents like Electabuzz and Magmar, both from Generation One, alongside Wobbuffet from Generation Two. Individual trainers are well-equipped to tackle these challenges solo if their team is composed of Pokémon that have the advantage; otherwise, coordinating with just three trainers is recommended for easier victories.

Additionally, trainers can utilize a Charged TM on any Shadow Pokémon to eliminate the default Charged Attack, Frustration. The event will feature exclusive field research tasks, which can be earned by spinning PokéStops or Gyms, leading to rewards such as Fast TMs, Charged TMs, and Mysterious Components.

A new Collection Challenge will also be introduced, although the specific Pokémon required for completion are yet to be confirmed. Successful completion will yield a badge, stardust for powering up Pokémon, and an encounter with a Trubbish. Finally, players can purchase the Team GO Rocket Box from the in-game shop for 300 PokéCoins, which includes an egg incubator, Rocket Radar, and a Premium Battle Pass.
