One of the most distinctive areas within the game is The Room, where traditional gaming mechanics are subverted. Here, players are encouraged to think outside the box, engaging with puzzles that even break the fourth wall—creating an immersive experience that’s unique in its execution.

The game mechanics in this enigmatic setting twist and warp, pulling players into a visual experience that feels far beyond its original 2008 release. At times, the atmosphere becomes so dream-like that players may find themselves staring blankly at the screen, grappling with the layers of meaning presented before them.

Although the progression may feel linear, the task of piecing together the story becomes exponentially challenging, especially in dimly lit areas. To aid in navigation through this unusual environment, I will provide a detailed guide illustrating how to overcome the peculiar challenges that arise within this room.

Chapter 5

Upon entering this chapter, you’ll notice an indicator of your progress—an emerging chapter number. The lower this number, the further you’ve advanced in the game. For now, step into the compact room, collect the pillar artwork, and exit.

On your way out, you will encounter chairs arranged in the shape of a smiling face. Exiting again brings you back to the original small room adorned with a poster rich in lore. Exiting once more will return you to the save room.

After leaving this safe zone, you’ll face a small battalion of bear-like creatures. These beast types pose little threat, so manage them swiftly. Upon defeating them, take note that the chairs’ demeanor has changed to a frown, which will unlock a new door in the small room.

Venture inside to confront bizarre, scraggly ghost drawings. However, be mindful that exiting leads you back to yet another corridor, so head inside, then promptly exit.

Chapter 4

After a quick transition marked by a fade to white, you’re transported back to the save point, now entering Chapter 4, where the room has completely rearranged itself, coinciding with a shift in the month.

Make your way through the previously unending hallway and discover a map featuring five red dots: one indicating your current position, three signifying important locations, and one placed in the sun.

Begin by visiting the Tall Mister located at the leftmost dot, where you will encounter Dedan in a notably calm mood. He will inquire about the date. After this, head back to the bottom dot’s house to collect the calendar page.

Before presenting the calendar, feel free to interact with the other two dots to engage with the Bird and the Big Mister. Once you’ve gathered their insights, return to the Tall Mister with the calendar page.

He will reward you with a book, which you can then give to the Bird. This gesture will culminate in the Bird assisting the Big Mister out of his predicament, leading to a cutscene where the trio discusses their plans for building a new world at the cottage.

Subsequently, interact with the sun to converse with Mama, gleaning further lore regarding your three companions. This encounter will eventually send you back to the save point for another fresh endeavor.

Chapter 3

Entering Chapter 3 shifts your experience drastically. Instead of the amusing television character, you’ll be met with a faux title screen providing three different save files—all containing distinct content. Start with the first file and navigate to the large figure positioned at the bottom left of the expansive room.

After providing him with the number he requests, proceed to the next room where you will need to maneuver a ball using the + symbols etched into the ground. Ensure you begin one tile above the symbol, prompting it to move down effectively.

Completing this puzzle will yield the number “3755”on your screen; however, these digits are not meant for the large figure. Instead, wrap up your time in this save file and proceed into the top-right room.

Here, answer the inquiries posed by the first character with “March”, reply “Elsen”to the second, “Directions”to the third, and “Von Gacy”to the final one. Extra credit is awarded if you were perceptive enough to keep a record of these answers.

Make note of the symbols on the playing card attached to the wall, and if you’re inclined, capture a screenshot for future reference. Next, load file 2, where you’ll encounter several shadowy figures, although they can be bypassed.

Proceed to the upper right, where you’ll be tasked with pressing down the circles on the floor corresponding to the right-facing leaves depicted on the playing card. Completing this task earns you the number “5865”, necessary to utilize back in the first file.

Provide the large figure with this number to regain access to The Room. Once that’s achieved, switch to the third save file, allowing you to finally enter the top right room with the keypad accessible.

Here, input the number “3755”collected from the ball puzzle earlier. After validating this, return to the lower area and witness yet another white flash accompanied by more lore, preparing you for the next chapter ahead.

Chapter 2

Begin your venture by heading into a small room, interacting with an old comic book resting on the floor. This leads you into a short yet self-explanatory game within the game, where simply moving to the right guarantees success.

You can engage in battles here and leverage the Boxer’s formidable abilities to swiftly eliminate any foes if you feel the urge to grind for credits. However, ideally, focus on completing this section quickly and return to the save point.

Chapter 1

This marks the final save point prior to confronting the boss, with Zacharie reassuring you that there’s no risk of being locked out of any content. Feel free to explore the void and complete any remaining tasks before returning to face the finale.

The upcoming battles are manageable, but once you pass through that door, return access is lost, cementing your choice to either complete the game or face defeat. Therefore, ensure you have stocked up on necessary items.

During the encounter with the Queen, it’s wise to quickly dispel any debilitating debuffs, prioritize her auxiliary entities, and focus particularly on the one positioned behind her.

Once her companions are down, the battle becomes significantly easier, especially if you have previously defeated any optional bosses and prepared enough healing items, setting the stage for a decisive conclusion.

Chapter 0

Navigate the familiar red room, entering the small space you have grown accustomed to throughout your journey. Ultimately, your choices will dictate the story’s resolution.

Neither of the concluding battles present a significant challenge; you can continuously apply your powerful abilities, ensuring the opponent remains helpless, culminating the game with a reflective and solemn ending regardless of the path taken.
