Ultimate Guide to Materia Prima Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Embarking on the Materia Prima Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

In the Materia Prima quest of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, players uncover the intricate operations of Miller Kreyzl in Lower Semine, as Henry acquires some invaluable, albeit morally gray, skills that will prove essential in his upcoming endeavors.

Navigating the Quest: Initial Steps

To kick off the Materia Prima quest, head southwest from Troskowitz, following the primary road that leads out of the village. At the first signpost fork, take a left and continue on this main road until you arrive in Semine.

Upon entering Semine, proceed past the Lord’s estate, keeping to the main street. Feel free to explore and mark various shops and services on your map — don’t miss the laundry service, which can be quite beneficial, and the saddler, a valuable contact for the Miri Fajta quest.

As you traverse through Semine, remain on the path through the wooded area until the road loops back. Descending the hill, you’ll eventually reach the miller’s farm in Lower Semine.

Meeting Miller Kreyzl

Upon arrival, you’re likely to find Miller Kreyzl diligently working at his grindstone near the front of his residence. Approach him and inquire about job opportunities.

Though initially skeptical of Henry, Kreyzl offers him a mundane labor task as a form of initiation. With no room to decline, Henry must shoulder the burden and start working.

Follow the quest marker to the shed, retrieve a bag of flour, and deliver it to the cart, repeating this till a cutscene signals the next phase. Express your willingness to assist Kreyzl in more profitable ventures, and he will then assign you a new mission: to pilfer a valuable document from the Troskowitz Rathaus.

Before this can happen, Kreyzl decides to train Henry in the arts of stealth and deception, emphasizing his desire for Henry to succeed. To begin, he instructs Henry to locate Hensel, one of his farmhands.

Learning the Tricks of the Trade

Speak with Hensel, who will guide you through the controls and mechanisms of stealth operations such as knockouts, stealth kills, pickpocketing, and lockpicking — crucial skills in the morally ambiguous world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Don’t forget to pick up the free dagger and lockpicks located on the workbench beside the lockpicking tutorial chest. Be sure to practice unlocking the chest repeatedly to gain valuable experience points that will aid in skill development.

Finally, Kreyzl hints at a sneaking suit stored at the bathhouse in Zhelejov, albeit with the caveat that he hasn’t paid for its delivery, a challenge Henry must tackle to retrieve the outfit.

Acquiring the Miller’s Sneaking Suit

To find the miller’s missing clothes, head northeast from Lower Semine to the central village of Semine, and then further north to reach Zhelejov.

In Zhelejov, you will discover the Wagoner’s Inn near a bridge, which also houses the bathhouse.

Here, you have a couple of options:

  • If you equip a charismatic ensemble, like a peacock-feather hat and an embellished coat, you can persuade the bathhouse owner to part with the garments, banking on the allure of your appearance to attract future clientele.
  • Alternatively, you can opt for stealth by sneaking into the bathhouse and making your way upstairs, where you will find the black sneaking outfit secured in a locked chest.

Executing the Heist at Troskowitz Rathaus

Now that you are outfitted in dark clothing, make your way northeast to Troskowitz, where the Rathaus stands prominently in the town center, typically inhabited by both the scribe and bailiff.

Prior to entering, converse with a brigand confined in stocks outside. He can provide valuable information regarding the task ahead, including the whereabouts of the key needed to access the chest inside the Rathaus.

The most straightforward route to acquiring the document involves sneaking around to the back of the Rathaus, where there exists a guarded staircase leading down to the basement—a crucial area for your mission.

Utilize the R1 button to throw a stone and create a distraction for the guard. Once the guard is diverted, stealthily descend to the basement.

Inside, a “very easy” locked door awaits further exploration, housing a strength skill book — a useful item for your adventures.

Continue into the open room at the bottom of the stairs, where you’ll find the chest containing the sought-after document. To access it easily, head into the adjacent cell on your left and scour the hay located right of the bench, where the large iron key is hidden.

With the key in hand, return to the room with the chest and loot its contents. You can choose to exit the way you entered, but ensure to distract the guard once more to avoid raising suspicion. Alternatively, you could navigate through the main building, but this method carries higher risks as these interior areas are often off-limits, especially at night.

Regardless of your chosen escape route, make your way back to Lower Semine, triumphant and document secured. Present the document to Miller Kreyzl, who will commend your efforts, allow you to keep the sneaking suit, and provide you with a thievery skill book.

However, even with this accomplishment, it isn’t enough to secure a wedding invitation. There are still two additional quests you must complete for the miller to gain that coveted entry.
